I miss my dog so much T.T it was horrible watching him die. At least he's not in pain anymore...
Day by day, in every way, I am getting better and better. And so are you!

-hugs-  I've been there several times with pets and it's a horrible feeling but at least your dog is in a better place.  :)

I'm sorry, but Malachite is right.
They're free from all that pain now.

On the plus side if you believe in an afterlife you can reunite with your dog one day. :)

I am sorry for your loss.

I had to put down the family Labrador retriever, aged 12, in the summer of 2010.  I still grieve.
Family dogs give unconditional love.

It always hurts when we lose one of our lil' friends  :'(  They are not just animal pets but also a family member

Sorry for your loss  :icon_bunch:

sooooo sorry. Been there several times and it's always painful.. That said, I found the best way for me was to get another. They don't "replace" the one I lost but I really like having dogs around. There are sooo many that need a good home.

Big hugs.   :'(     They are family, for sure.  There were lots of tears the last time I experienced that.

It is a very sad thing. I lost two dogs, one fell in the pool and drowned, I gave her mouth to mouth, but it didn't help. The other died of heat stroke and old age. Miss them both heaps.

As a Vet Tech, I has seen my share of best buddy crossing over the Rainbow Bridge.  I hope this poem brings you some comfort.

.  Because you can use a good hug.

The Rainbow Bridge Poem

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Awww hunny!

I know he was your best friend, and I know being our type that all of those private conversations with with him probably helped sustain you through some tough times.

Maybe its a good time to meet another another doggy who will become your friend now. He will never be or replace your other doggy, but he will help ease the pain as you make a new friend and arent alone. Think about saving a puppy at a shelter, saving one doggy from imminent death is a noble cause!

I am already dreading the loss of my dog Sputnik...he is 12 and perfectly healthy, but he's getting old and...well I love him so much...but I am preparing for the reality.

I know it sounds silly to some people, but truly I understand what you're going through. To me my dog is my equal, he is a friend as much as anyone else.

-hugs- I'm so very sorry to hear this.  Your family member is at least free from any pain that they felt.

I love that poem.  It makes me cry every time I read it.  My vet sent me the poem with my dog's paw print underneath it when we had to put her down.

I am sorry for that, i have a cat and i can imagine how i would feel if she died. My whole world would come crashing down, be strong and know that your dog is in a better place and you'll see each other again one day :).
All I can say is that my life is pretty plain, I like watchin' the puddles gather rain.

Despite all my rage, I'm still just a rat in a cage
