The 11th annual Philadelphia Trans Health Conference is the largest trans health conference in the US (and probably the world). It's happening in just a few weeks: May 31st through June 2nd, at the Philadelphia Convention Center.

At this event, "health" is defined in its broadest sense. Workshop topics include transgender basics; spirituality; the most diverse surgery show & tells; youth and families programming; sexuality; non-binary gender; mental health; sessions for partners; etc etc etc. Along with all that, there are free medical exam appointments (through Mazzoni Center); low cost food options; possibilities for community housing; and oh my goodness social events. There is special programming for children who are trans, as well as their families. There is an education track for mental health and medical providers, where some of the best people (therapists and surgeons) train providers who want to learn or gain expertise in caring for our communities. (Provider attendance has a registration fee, and CEUs are available.)

I'm glad to answer questions here or via PM. I've attended nearly all since the first one, as participant as well as presenter. It's a conference that's gotten better and better each year, and I wouldn't miss it.

More info, and the registration page (free, but please register since it helps them plan printing and rooms and staffing) is here: http://www.trans-health.org/about

If it helps sweeten the deal at all, ComicCon is happening the same weekend, elsewhere in the convention center. ;)

Sorry for replying here if there's another thread about this (haven't been able to find it yet, search feature returns links from 2008)...is anyone planning on attending this year?
There are a couple seminars I'd like to attend but can't get the time off from work for the trip, and Saturday's sessions don't seem to have that many topics I'm interested in making the trip for.
Just wondering if anyone is taking notes or might be able to summarize some material from discussions you're planning on attending?
Thx!

I'm going, but tend not to take notes. Also, there are soooo many great sessions! Some are only open to ___-identified folks. Are any of the sessions ones where you might be able to write the presenters to see if there are handouts or notes?
