So I see a lot has changed around here. I have been trolling for about a week and I see a lot of new faces and a few old ones and I got to tell you, this is still home on the web for me.

I've been gone for quite a while, frankly because life really threw me for a loop. But wow! Has life turned around and I'm happier then a homeless transsexual with a bottle of hormones! Yeah, I was homeless for a bit :)

But I'm back and doing great, living the dream and on track to have "the big surgery" around the end of this year.

It's great to be back! I've missed this place.

So hows everyone doing? Whats new? Whats your stories? I can't wait to catch up!

Hey, Sis.  Love the blond look.   I drift in and out.  I have 10 weeks till extern as a vet tech.

I go before the boards in November for my certification, and then get my license here in Oregon.

Michelle.

Welcome back!

Homeless? I hope that wasn't for very long.

Sounds like your surgery date is fast approaching.
  •

Ellieka

Yeah. Things got really rough for a while there but a strong faith and a strong will got me through it... Along with a lot of help from my best friend. She quite literally saved my life.

It's looking like my company who is self insured is going to help me with my surgery. Not entirely sure on that yet but at any rate I'm making damn good money now and should be able to cover the entire cost by the end of the year. As of now I'm planning on February of next year. I'll have vacation time as well as paid absence days to use and They are going to allow me to use FMLA for any time more then 3 weeks off. Only corporate HR knows I am trans and they only found that out when they did a rather extensive background check on me. It's a pretty awesome company to work for and they even have world wide company policies in place to protect GLBT employes. I have two friends here who are openly gay and they are very well received and liked. But I have no plans to ever disclose my trans status to my coworkers.
