7 months post-op and still feeling all twisted up

Hello all... I don't post much on forums anymore, but I am starting to wonder if what I am experiencing post-op is within the range of typical outcomes, and this seemed like a good place to ask.

I had SRS 7 months ago with a very reputable and well-known and reviewed surgeon. Appearance-wise, things look great. Dilation-wise, no issues there... I have 6", which I am very happy with. I am orgasmic.  Still a fair amount of numbness in certain places which seems typical.

What I am not sure is typical, is the fact that mostly when I am standing up, I am still constantly aware of the area. Underneath, it still feels all twisted up and smushed. Feels like something pressing on it, on the inside. Difficult to explain.

Doesn't hurt but I had hoped by this point I would be less aware of the area... that it would feel the same as, say, my arm or any other body part feels.

I'm getting a little concerned that this feeling is not going to go away, as it's largely been the same for the past couple months or so.

Do you mean the place above the hood, where the remains of the glands and nerves get buried? The little... pad of flesh there? (Not sure how to describe it better.)

That part still feels weird and sort of scrunched-up. Kind of like the feeling you get in your legs if you can't stretch them out for a really long time. Compressed. But I can't really say I'm always aware of it; I only really notice it if I'm thinking about it. (3 1/2 months post-op.)

I think it's supposed to be remaining erectile tissue and stuff. And over time it calms down. Have you asked your doctor about it?

Yes, I suppose it's that general area. And the clit area itself.  There is still erectile tissue there... which I am also aware of, um, under certain conditions. I know it's supposed to be there but I wish it wasn't.  :)

I asked my doctor, well, the nursing staff up there about it at 4 months' post-op, and they said that they believed it would go away with time. It is better than it was then... but it just seems like it ought to feel a lot more normal by now. Probably time to check in with them again.

give it a year before you worry, i still couldnt sit comfortably at 7 months ...im nearing my 11 month now and i feel soooo much better then I did at month 7 alot more "normal" and i can sit on any surface comfortably now and my dr said i will start to see even more spontaneous improvements around month 12.

I'm sorry that you had that amount of discomfort although hearing that makes me feel a little better about things.

Glad you are feeling better and more normal now!  Normal is so elusive.  :)
