As a feminist-lesbian, I reject these male invented "ideal feminine body" constructs.

Are they constructs? Or do they reflect a natural distribution within the female population?

My body looks absolutely nothing like any of those unfortunately. What can I do? if I post a pic of the middle section of my body folk might want to go for the sick bucket!

Neither you nor I are cisfemale.  Someday I hope to approach the "apple" or "pear" shape, if I can lose another 30 to 40 pounds, maybe with the help of a waist cincher.  I'll never get to an "hourglass" - it is just unrealistic.  When I was a teen, I was closer to the "tube."

And our bone structure is fighting against us, because we probably do not have a female pelvic girdle. So hips are a problem.

But, I've seen your older avatars, and there is no way whatsoever you would cause anyone to reach for the "sick bucket"!  My personal opinion: have a goal in mind to work for.  It might be a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and unreachable, but there is self-satisfaction to be found in the effort.

Here is a common classification of the (cis-)female figure:

Where does Jessica Ennis fit in any of those? She'd be far off to the left of apple, off the diagram.

Jessica has narrow hips and wide shoulders.

Whether or not Jessica fits into a category represented in the diagram, I'd love to have a body like that, wouldn't you?

It's like blood types.  Most people are A, B, AB, or O.  But not everybody.

It was a joke but, in truth, the concept of feminine beauty is a male and mostly white construct.

True, in Western culture.  But I differentiate the concept of "beauty" from a morphological feature that is largely controlled by genetics.

I might have an eye color I consider "beautiful," and today I could get colored contact lenses to try and achieve that concept of beauty, but no one eye color is inherently more "beautiful," or sexually attractive, than another.

The typical female body shapes, shown in the diagram, are the result of natural selection over hundreds of thousands, or millions of years.

Frankly, I have a very good shape....round is good, and I'm *very* round.

LOL

The "ideal" female shape is, imho, a hollywood construct. From there, it became an object of desire among all the "hip and happening" people.

That kind of body is quite good looking, but there are other "good looking" bodies out there (I'm more partial to a slightly larger woman than in the pic)
...I think for most of us it is a futile effort to try and put this genie back in the bottle once she has tasted freedom...

Thanks! I'm not complaining about the way I look from the neck upwards! I'm talking about my poor body fat re-distribution and the fact that all the fat goes on my belly. It has got worse since HRT.

I have been able to tighten my abs, somewhat, by doing the "yoga plank" several times per day.

I don't have a pot belly anymore, it's sort of a pan belly now.

Here is the "Venus of Dolní Věstonice"

27 to 29 thousand years old. Fertility symbol? "Pear"

Here is the "Venus of Willendorf"

Did it represent a female "ideal" 24 to 26 thousand years ago?  "Apple"

Ancient Egypt "Hourglass" or "Tube"

Ancient Greece "Hourglass"

Ardhanarishvara with consort "Hourglass"

All "pre-Hollywood"

Aha! I finally got around to measuring myself.

Bust is at 29.5", hips are at 30.5", and my waist is at 23.5" (21" when I breathe in, and for wearing corsets!).

Not too bad, for a super-skinnybeans. Now, just imagine if I could gain weight! My meaningless numbers would look even better, not to mention my body!

But alas, I seem to have forgotten how to care.
