I think people do what they need to in order to live their lives the way they want to. And to say what does or doesn't make someone something is largely a subjective thing based on what the individual thinks about what makes them who they are. Arbitrary judgements about others often come from insecurity about oneself.
If the way she feels and lives her life enables her to be happy, more power to her. I don't particularly agree or disagree with any of it. I think she's expressing the way she feels about stuff. The differing viewpoints are ones which are older than the hills, and have been debated many, many times. In the end, I think everyone ends up finding their own answer in terms of what works for them, and they shouldn't really have to justify it to anyone or told it isn't the right way.
As Nietzsche said: You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.
