Hey everyone,

Does anyone here live in Maryland? Or have any knowledge of what it is generally like for a trans person in that particular state?

I currently live in California& am curious as to how trans people are regarded in this part of the country as I'm looking into a graduate school over there.

I'm relatively stealth here& know I would be there as well but I would hate to be in an area that holds negative feelings towards the LGBTQ community.

Thanks in advance.

I live in Maryland, however I'm a new comer to the Trans world a little over a month ago (I'm 26 years old). Overall Maryland seems pretty accepting. I love the community here, although I mostly know lesbians, they all seem to know or are related to some transmen. Also they have meetings in Baltimore, I've never been so I'm not sure how many people attend but it's there.

I visited Maryland pretty often a few years ago. I wasn't bothered much but I was in the Baltimore area. I can't say much about other parts of Maryland.

just felt like adding that baltimore was where that trans woman was attacked in the bathroom of a mcdonalds. i was there and i didnt get bothered but i was stealth so idk what people actually feel towards transsexuals.

I think agfrommd lives in Maryland. He usually posts in the Androgyne section. Might be able to tell you about resources. You can say I told you so he doesn't think it's some scam.

Thanks for the input everyone.

I have my heart set on a school OTHER than the one in Maryland as of right now but just wanted to hear a little of what you all have experienced/heard in that part of America.

Rural areas are dominated by conservative Catholic people whereas people in suburban areas around the DC are more diverse and open minded. I had some bad memory in Maryland with some catholic people, both man and woman. I am a m2f transgeder without transition.

Just do it.
