So my pre-op appointment with Garramone was July 9th, and my surgery was the 10th. Since April, I've kind of internalized the dates and haven't bothered to recheck the initial email to make sure they were right. Obviously my huge mistake. So, all this time, I've been thinking my post-op appointment was scheduled for the 17th (tomorrow morning) at 9:30, because I just assumed it was a week after the surgery (not to mention I haven't even glanced at a calendar in a week). Wrong. It was THIS MORNING at 9:30, and around 11:00 I got a call from one of his receptionists, kindly (and by "kindly" I mean she sounded royally pissed off) reminding me that I should've showed up for my appointment almost two hours ago. At this point I apologized about twenty million times, and told her I'd be willing to reschedule whenever was more convenient for them (I'll be in Florida until Saturday, so it wouldn't have interfered with my flight at all). So she fit me in for Wednesday morning at 9 AM, and I apologized about four more times before getting off the phone and sobbing like a moron because I felt like such a jerk for being so careless. My bandages aren't as miserable as they were earlier on (probably because my chest is less swollen, so they're a little looser), so I'm sure I'll survive, but I still can't believe I messed up so badly with my time management. Ugh. I know everything will ultimately be fine, but I just feel so ridiculously stupid and embarrassed. Maybe I'm just being a huge Drama Queen. But I hate screwing other people over, especially a guy as nice as Garramone.

Sorry if this sounds whiny and obnoxious, I just wanted to vent my frustration.

I can understand why youd be feeling like that :/ But everyone makes mistakes. And, although Im sure you couldve done without the receptionists pissed off tone, atleast you found out today and was able to reschedule, rather than waiting till you went in tomorrow!

At first as I was reading what you put, I thought that you were going to say how you got your surgery date wrong! Now THAT wouldve been terrible!

See, I guess it couldve been worse :P

Hahah, oh god, I don't even want to imagine. I would've hit the roof. But you're right, it could've been worse. It's just that when I heard how pissed off she sounded, I was afraid Dr. Garramone was probably annoyed with me as well. But he's probably had other patients who've messed up their appointments as well, I'm sure. Oh well. He seems like a really nice guy, so I doubt he'd come down on me with an Iron Fist and explode at me when I show up Wednesday.

Make_It_Good, that's where I thought the story was going too! LOL. Hopefully it seems like no harm done. And congrats to yarblockos!

But seriously guys, there must be something in the stars (or wherever!) these days about screwed up appointments, de-railed plans, guys missing their T-dates, etc. It seems to be a theme on here lately. I mean, more than usual. ;)

"People come and go so quickly here!"
