Awww, Well if you want to tell him then you should, but if you don't there is nothing to be ashamed about either. I wish you the best of luck though. *huggles*

Go for it.  If he is a true friend, he will still be around.  If not, you are don't need to have that negativity around you.

It can feel wonderful to finally tell someone. One suggestion: when you do, you might want to be prepared for what if that person tells someone that they trust but you do not, and that third person tells everyone you know. Many good people are what I call "blurters"; they mean well and love you to death, but they don't know the meaning of the word discretion. Being outed to your social circle isn't necessarily a terrible thing, but you need to be prepared to handle (and manage) the questions if it happens.

You might want to ask your friend to keep it between the two of you for now, before you tell them. Some supportive people don't have any problem with your being transgender, and don't realize that there are people in the world who do. The first person I told was clueless and a blurter. I love her dearly, but she and I are still dealing with negative repercussions from the first person she told instead of letting me handle telling people.
