Hello,

My name is Arianna Jade i am 23 years old i live in a small town in North Carolina (Lexington) with my girlfriend Carrie. I am a full time college student at DCCC, and plan to get my Associate in Arts degree there.

I recently told my friends and family that I was transgendered, some have taken the news a little better than others. We found a group a little less than an hour from our house and have started attending and meeting other like minded people. I have been put in touch with some wonderful people and already go out dressed as my true self. My girlfriend loves to help me with my makeup and outfits. I officially start hormones and electrolysis in September. My journey is only just beginning and it seems like a long road ahead, but I am certain I will be just fine with the support of my close friends and my girlfriend.

I plan to be very active on these forums and can not wait to hear some of your stories.

Another big Aussie welcome to Susan's family, from a not so stormy New South Wales (& thank you Cindy. You can keep your storms all to yourselves, thank you very much    ). It's good of you to drop in and say "Hi". Hope you like it here, and you stay for a while.

There is a mountain of information, resources and friendship waiting for you here, you just need to jump in and start talking.

You are wise in joining a support group, as transitioning is not a Robinson Crusoe type event. And you are right. It is a long road, and not everyone will appreciate what you have had to go through to achieve your goals and dreams.

Looking forward to hearing more of your story in time to come, but in the meantime, be safe, well and happy.
