I popped to the post office today to pick up a letter & it's now official, I am no longer Mr i'm now Miss.
As I read through the deed pole decleration about relinquishing my old name I was so happy I started crying, yet another step along the path of transitioning is behind me & it was a very easy step but also very emotionaly satisfying.

I know it's not a big deal really but it's good to share good news, it's a rare thing nowdays

Congrats!

I did mine via Statutory Declaration at the local court house. Cost £20 and took an hour for a magistrate to be free but on the first day of summer I was officially a "Ms".

I felt different afterwards. Having stood up and read my declaration from the witness box to the whole court somehow validated me even though I never doubted myself. I walked out of court straight across to the bank and changed the name on my account.

I felt on top of the world.

No.  It is a big deal.  That person no longer exists.  You have taken their place.

Awesome news!

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

I was lazy for mine, I made a 5 minute phone call & it cost me £33.
Once the paperwork arrives you just have to get someone to sign it as a witness, no judge, no courtroom, no hassle.

The court house is 5 minutes from here and I had to pass it anyway.
