I went to buy something and used PayPal to transmit the funds.
That's when I noticed my account was still in the name of [---].
I tried to change it on the website. No dice.
I then went through a nasty phone maze that used voice recognition. It took quite a bit of time to finally get it to cough up the path to a human.
Then I had to give them the name on the account.
Then I had to explain what I wanted. This really flustered the callcenter 'droid.
Even after I explained I'd changed my name and gender, the 'droid still kept calling me 'sir' until I corrected him -- twice. Then he over-ma'am'ed me the rest of the conversation.
I wonder what he'll tell his buddies tonight over a 12-pack?

Addendum: Getting to the correct page is involved, but once you navigate the webpage maze, there's a page where you upload an imagefile of your document or license or other proof that you've really had a name change. The assumption is the 'droids look at the picture, are satisfied, and they make the change.
