@Emma1017  @davina61  @Maid Marion  @ChrissyRyan
I took the day off today.... just resting, doing some light house chores, and I stayed home
and went nowhere.... staying in my warm home and sometimes in my chair in front of my
fireplace.
Super bitter cold temp this early morning  minus -51 deg (F)  [ -46C ].,, later this afternoon
it warmed up to minus -39 deg(F)

The solution is to bundle up, be safe outside because frostbite can happen quickly....
Warm house,  warm car,  warm office and warm shopping in stores.

Mechanical things like machinery and vehicles do not do well in this climate unless special
preparation is taken in advance.....  this is why you don't see electric cars up here....  batteries
do not work and do not do well in freezing and below freezing weather.

That is way below my shiver point.

We got up to +69F degrees today, dropping down to +44F degrees tonight. (That's still 12 degrees above freezing.)

We have it so tough here in Colorado in mid-December.

🥶😁

Danielle you win, hands down. That kind of cold is not for amateurs.  Clearly you are a pro.

The coldest I have ever experienced is minus 24 at an ice festival in Quebec. They had an ice hotel you could stay in.  I opted for a drink at their ice bar. 😁

Taught school yesterday, gym class.  The toughest class to cover.  It is a free class with over-energetic teenagers. I had the kids, that wanted to play, do a basketball shooting contest.  The rest just grabbed mats and hung out.  They are amazingly good with each other and no dramas.

Manhattan is mobbed with tourists, which is great for the economy but miserable if you are trying to get to work or any place else.  It's the Christmas season, so you just adapt and enjoy the vibe.  At least once a day, I help some tourists navigate the city, usually in the subway.  It can be confusing.

I wrote this story and wanted to share it here:

It's free, and I hope you enjoy it.

After I wrote it, I found this youtube and thought it stunning:  🔗

I know many of you live in places that can see this.  I am jealous!

That's a beautiful story you've written. Makes the point in a lovely way.

I believe highly in education as the tool to not only teach the innocent, but also to at least try and get through to the ignorant.

Education from the establishments, but also from everyday people like us. Showing up, being ourselves, telling our stories in an open hearted way. It all helps and may shape a human being or two to be more understanding and less ignorant of difference.

One of the reasons I love living in the desert. In summer, the skies are seldom cloudy. I am in the city, so there is too much light pollution. But when I get out into the "wilds," the night sky is beautiful. I enjoy camping and sleeping under the stars. Watching meteors shoot across the sky until I fall asleep.

Very cool video! Thanks for sharing.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Hope is not dead.

We had a wedding over the weekend that gave me hope after a very tough year for our transgender community.  The elder son of one of our closest friends got married over the weekend.  They live in a very Irish Catholic community.  Many of the guys are firemen and cops, while many women are teachers and nurses. Its a very conservative place.

It was a small wedding party, but leading the bride in was the best man for the groom and the "best man" for the bride. The bride's biological sister was in a tux.  No one said a negative word the entire night.

Additionally, there were 300 guests at the reception, and there was a full table of non-gender-specific guests.  Everyone just had a great time.

In spite of the recent setbacks, change is still happening.  Not everyone has gone back to the belief that the world is flat.

That's great, Emma.

That has been my observation as well. What is going on in governments at various levels does not reflect the will of the People.

This is what I see, too. Anti-trans sentiment is not a majority view, not even close. It's just a weapon to try to keep a culture war going to distract from the abuses of power.
