Congratulations on approval for your surgery. Not far away.  I'll be happier by that point too as a couple of months behind you.

Hi, everyone I have my pre-op appointment in 7 more days, and 51 days before surgery and all of a sudden, I'm feeling nervous and second guessing after all the years of working towards it. I want to assume it's a normal emotional response I fear anesthesia, the recovery period, the results, my marriage (which appears to be OK at present), and the effects of my health afterwards. I also have appointments with a pelvic floor therapist in 8 days, and a psychologist in 9 days followed by surgery on December 2nd. Time appears to be moving quite fast these days.

Charlotte, congratulations I'm happy for you.

Hi Darilee,

Surgery is serious business so it is normal to be nervous.
I have two small hernias that have been looked at by doctors.  At first surgery was optional.
After all this time it is obvious that it wasn't a medical necessity.

Good luck!

That is perfectly normal. Not only is it major surgery with all the risks of major surgery, but you are also looking ahead, too. It is life-changing surgery, which is why we seek it. Try not to worry about the future. Certainly plan ahead, but take each step one day at a time.

And congratulations on things moving forward. That sounds like an exciting time. Just relax. You'll get there.

I'm sure it's very normal to have doubts. It's a major surgery and life altering so I think it's a normal reaction (within limits of course)

I must be weird as wasn't nervous about FFS even on the day. And same for GRS. More excited than nervous to be honest. Guess I'm just thinking its happening so what will be, will be. Usually these things go really well and any issues are solved.
