Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

The fact that this board has moved to 8.0 while the "What made you happy today" board is still at 7.0
  •

ChrissyRyan

Paulie,

Well it has taken almost ten years to fill the Unhappy 7.0 board that started in January 2016.  Maybe it will take 15 years to fill this new Unhappy 8.0 board.  The Happy 7.0 board started in May 2019.  Perhaps it will take less than ten years to fill the Happy 7.0 board.

We can all try to be happy!  Spread some today.

Hi Chrissy,

I was hoping it might be the case that the "made you un-happy" board had started well before the "made you happy" board.  I'm so glad that's the situation.

Warm Regards, and Happy New Years.

Nothing is making me unhappy so far this year!

Is that the same for you?  I hope so.

Grrrr. One of our garage door openers failed today. Whether we use the remote control or the wall switch, it just 'clicks'. I think a solenoid failed.

Look at the bright side: You get to take a break from unpacking boxes to work on the opener.

I stared at it for a few minutes, then threatened it with a screwdriver, but it still refuses to work. Will will soon be supporting the local economy by hiring someone to fix it.

@Jessica_Rose
Dear Jessica:

On some garage door openers, the motor (or somewhere around the motor)
may have a reset button....  give it a look at...
... it could be that simple.

If that doesn't work, instead of a screw driver...
... a BIG hammer might work better.... or at least it might make you feel better.
🙃

Good luck.
HUGS, Danielle

I am very unhappy that I may have to face a four to five hour airport wait to catch a flight.

This is awful.  These workers need to get paid.

We the people need to travel.

My goodness what will happen when the spring breaks kick in?   Seven hour waits?

Went to a community meeting yesterday and I believe I heard some woman quietly pointing me out as a pretend woman.  But I also felt just as welcome as anyone overall.

My therapist canceled my first appointment.  I'll be looking for a different therapist tomorrow. Fortunately I got in with a place that will review my requirements and do the leg work

Yikes.  Was a cancelation reason given?  Did you ask?  Did they offer or did you ask for a reschedule?

Medical personnel sometimes need to cancel with little notice.  Maybe they are feeling lousy.  It could be an emergency, it could be they finally could fit in their vacation and needed to clear their calendar, their office is being remodeled, too many of their support staff are off sick or gone, or they should be with their children, etc.

Just because they canceled that does not mean you should give up on the person.  Yes, this may be an inconvenience for you.

Cancelations do not happen that often but they do happen.

I understand medical professionals have to make last minute changes. My wife is a medical professional.
I didn't even get a phone call. Just an email saying my appointment is canceled nothing about rescheduling or an apology

Sorry to hear that Kellie, Hopefully you won't have to wait long for the next opportunity.

Well they may have had a lot of people to contact.  I guess my point is that if you specifically selected this professional there must have been good reason to do so.  It is often hard to get in as a new patient.  It is not that I cannot see your frustration and anger, it is just a highly recommended provider I personally would not throw away for someone new, after one event like this, all things considered.

Medical staff can have to deal with so many patients too for many doctors and offices are often understaffed so they make the calls and other contacts as soon as possible so patients would be the least inconvenienced.  It could be that her/his child is sick.  It is not easy to get day care I hear.

Calls are usually made though plus the cancellation emails.

I hope you get in soon for your help.  I heard that overseas it may be really tough to find someone to see without a long wait but it also happens in the USA.

You dodged a bullet, Kellie. Find someone right for you, sweetie. If someone can just cancel like that... with that level of cold impersonality... you don't want them in your life. Look at it that way, okay?

You need someone right for you, a fit for you. And it might take a few tries to get that, but it will be worth it. So... see it as a positive okay, honey? You are weeding out people who are not right for you, and aiming to find someone who is the right fit for you and your own journey.

I can imagine you feel hurt, but... in the long term, it will be better for you. If a therapist doesn't care enough about a client to contact them about a cancellation... how good are they going to be when you're pouring your heart out to them?

@Dawn Kellie, I'm so sorry. I've been looking forward to that appointment for you. I hope you're able to get in with someone else quickly.

This news makes me unhappy as well.

I went through this myself just a few weeks ago after realizing I might be trans. I had a very difficult time trying to find some help with it. When I did get an appointment it was cancelled. When you have that level of pain and confusion a cancellation is truly devastating.

You need someone reliable who understands how vulnerable the people that ask for help actually are. Kellie I hope the next one is that kind of therapist.
