That won't wash, I love garlic bread!

Sarah, I'm pissing myself at that.  I was going to use the vampire response but I love garlic.
I love cutting it up for meals.

I love the smell of it on my hands afterward.

I want garlic in every meal

I never had it until I was in my late teens.

My father went through WW2 and fought the Nazi's. There were lots of things we didn't have growing up because they were triggering.
And then one day you stop to find,
10 years have got behind you,
no one told you when to run,
you missed the starting gun

We had rationing in this country until the mid 50's. My mum clearly remembers the first time she saw a bannana! She's been addicted to bannana sandwiches ever since lol!

I am just a bit too young to remember the postwar rationing myself.  But it influenced me through my parents who lived through it.  To this day, I can't stand seeing someone scraping uneaten food off a plate into the garbage.  Uneaten food goes into the fridge, to be used in a future meal.

I heard that gasoline and lawn watering have been limited to every other day restrictions at times in the USA.  I have not experienced that.

Always stay cheerful, be polite, kind, and understanding. Accepting yourself as the woman you are is very liberating.  Never underestimate the appreciation and respect of authenticity.  Help connect a person to someone that may be able to help that person.  Be brave, be strong.  A TRUE friend is a treasure.  Relationships are very important, people are important, and the sooner we all realize that the better off the world will be.  Try a little kindness.  Be generous with your time, energy, wisdom, and resources.   Inconvenience yourself to help someone.   I am a brown eyed, brown haired woman.

Many cities in Southern Colorado are under Water Restrictions due to the ongoing drought. I don't have a lawn and don't water my roses with gasoline, so I am unaffected.

Same, I always thought it was impolite to leave food on a plate so if you can't finish it, put smaller portions out or save it for later.

Unless it's bloody awful then feed it to the cat lol!

The UK's bad reputation for food stems from rationing. We had no choice and had to improvise and the troops stationed over here ended up thinking that was how we all ate normally. A lot of folks had to make do with offal instead of prime cuts of meat. I will never get over the horror of seeing my grandmother serve tripe for tea ha ha! God the smell!

Maybe so, but my wife thought everything I made was overseasoned when I first got here. 😂

And me ,I have an Indian spice container for the basics that get used all the time ,4 trays of others and a shelf in one cupboard with jars of stuff. Also have a rotating stand with dried herbs my sister got me. When I cook for my mum I have to make basic stuff, she doesn't do spices/garlic/ chilli just plain meat and veg. Wild rabbit was their wartime food top up along with home grown veg.

I love rabbit. We raised them commercially when I was a kid, so we had it often.

I gave my aunt some veg curry I made, it only had a whole chilli (not chopped) in it and she threw it away as it was "too hot". Small portion from a big batch as well.
