How many girls on here are biological fathers? I have 4 kids and I am mostly in the closet out of necessity (my wife is still trying to come to terms with me being trans / gender fluid).

Despite the fact that I want to live as a woman and I am much happier as a woman I will never relinquish my title as a father. I love my kids and being a dad to them. Happy Father's Day to anyone celebrating.

My wife gave me a cute gift - a ladies necklace. Love it.
Born XX and married to XY.
I am gender fluid but live primarily in male mode. My wife knows about my gender identity struggles and we are navigating how to come out and be more public about me being trans.

My wife is the same, her kids still call her Dad. She occasionally asks them if they'd like to use something else; so far they haven't, though. Kids are 14 and 12 now.

Hugs, Devlyn

Each transition journey is unique and while it might appear to be contradictory for a trans woman to embrace remaining as a father figure to their children, it remains a personal choice shared by the whole family. Allowing the kids to still have that father figure often allows them to keep a bridge between their past and future. That's ok.

Even if I get to a point where I can live 100% as a woman, I won't want my kids to recognize me on Mother's Day. They already have a mother and I've been their father for their entire life.

I've seen women here distraught because their kids weren't addressing them in the way they wanted to be addressed. I've seen women here willing to "butch up" to walk their daughter down the aisle at her wedding.

People are people, and everyone is going to see things from a different perspective. 🙂
