Not that SA system yet AGAIN!!!

Upon my first enquiry about progress of my lodged ID gender and name change with "Home Affairs" (I was initially told it takes 6 - 8 weeks)....... it's now more then 8 MONTH!
And because of the gender change maybe MORE then 1 year!!!

I just took a deep breath, was not rude (it won't help in any case) and said my "thank you very much" bit.

So not only would we be on about 2 years RLE before any chance of getting legal HRT (only after 1st op), ~ 1 years before 1st local op (there are 3 of them), then add yet another year for the ID change!!!

Now go out and try to get a job --- just crazy having to spend ~3 years in low-income-limbo, as soon as they see you trans from your docs there are excuses...
