I'm a bit conflicted on how I feel about someone going on the offensive over a mouthy comment
The law however is not so conflicted. Either one.
The Law of the Jungle sez that this, like the bully video, or the one where the old Marine Vet goes all Iwo Jima on some cheep bus pimp - hey, you shouldn't let you mouth write a check your ass can't cover. And no doubt Mister Mouth there does this all the frickin' time. Bet me he's in line for an ass kicking two - three, times a day. Easy. So he's not doing this as a one-off. And those people, like the bully, or the bus pimp, or Mister Mouth, well it can be damn refreshing to see karma catching up with them and running them over.
The legal law however, while making an exception for a few things that are considered so egregiousness that they warrant it, basicaly sez that no utterances are provoction for battery. Which is legal talk for 'no one can say anything to you that is so 'wrong' that you get the right to hit them because they said it.'
And, like this video (and so many others) prove it that you have a pretty high likelihood of being on camera in any public urban setting anymore. And the Gangster Handbook lists "not doing anything illegal in front of a camera" as a high priority for any aspiring gangster.
