You must have a nice aquarium! I have a 6000 gallon pond and waterfall in my back yard where I've raised 10 Koi from little bitty things to a foot long already. The water is about 50 degrees now so they have gone into sort of a suspended animation mode down toward the bottom and won't need to be fed until Mother's day next year. These guys are my hobby interest, I was hoping for some little ones but I think they may have eaten them.

I'm so jealous!  I would love a pond of Koi.  I just need a house first, lol.  I think that sounds really cool that you won't have to feed them for that long.

Yes, eating the babies is a worry.  Koi do that though maybe they'll eventually be like my friend's fish that popped out 20 some odd babies and proceeded to swim away every time the small fry swam towards them.

I wish I could do more with my aquarium and I wish I had a bigger one to take care of the fish in...but then I'd probably to find another schooling fish and then have a really weird school. XD

Initially I had 11 but Big Bird dropped in for dinner last spring, the fish were really agitated and told me that a monster had eaten "Freddie" so I had to buy a huge net and suspend it over the pond on wires to discourage predators.

My ex is in hospital. her family are over 100 miles away so i've been walking to & from the hospital to make sure she's not lonely & has everything she needs.
It's not been easy with my recent lack of sleep but I know that if the roles were reversed she would do the same for me.
As I was walking home I saw a young man homeless with his dog so I went into the shop & bought a sandwich, 2 bottles of cola & 2 bags of crisps, I then went outside & shared it with him, I explained that because money is tight I needed to have half the sandwich myself vut he was very gratefull, as I left he had a smile on his face & was splitting his sandwich to share with his doggy.
I wish I could have done more, I wish I could have gotten more food & a tin of meat for the dog to eat properly but that was all the cash I had.

This post should also go in the what made you unhappy thread, I was happy to help someone but unhappy that people find themselves in that position

Maybe you shouldn't open with that next time.

Diana that was rude, there's nothing humorous about that! WTF?

I think she just meant as a "what made me happy today?" it's an unexpected first line.

Thank you for jumping to my defense, Padma. That is exactly what I meant. I thought the same thing you did, Shantel, when I first read that opening statement. There isn't anything funny about someone going to the hospital (as a volunteer firefighter, I've seen messed up stuff and had to tell a kid I found his father's charred body dead in the remains of his home). I would never find someone's personal tragedy to be funny. I would, however, find the irony of such an opening line to be hilarious.  :P

Getting a mountain of hugs!

No really, it almost crushed me when it fell.

I didn't have enough ammo going through a section of Resident Evil 4. So had to start all over because there was basically no way to beat the boss. I am glad I did though because now I made a point of being careful and thorough in saving all my ammo and healing and my bag is awesome-looking.

Last night actually.  It is my Birthday today but with everything that has happened, good and bad over the last week I had forgotten.  Two of my closest friends hadn't though and did a surprise dinner for me, roast followed by cake.  Made me feel very appreciated which I needed, and restored my self-esteem no end.

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Superficial fanny kissing friends are a dime a dozen, a TRUE FRIEND however is PRICELESS

With perseverance I have finally managed to get my little one to have a nap during the day for the first time in over two weeks. I wouldn't mind her wanting to give up her naps if she didn't need them but she definitely does, she ends up so very tired and cranky by around 4pm without a nap. Very happy that for the first time in what seems like forever I have a bit of a break....and won't have to deal with a cranky toddler for the rest of the day :P

I think we've been there for a while :D

Overall she's very good, but she certainly has her moments....lately those moments have been more frequent...but I've just started college and she's still getting used to the new routine of going to day care so that's to be expected

Day care is where they build up their immunities to everything that's out there, get used to the green snotty nose and coughing. It's called growing pains, they do the growing and the parents suffer the pains! Being a grandparent I can assure you that I know, because when daycare thinks they're too sick to leave, then grandma and grandpa get elected as a final option and they get to share the joys and the sniffles too!

Found myself a female osteopath in the next town :). I hurt my neck throwing up all night the other week, it's still not right - but I was scared to go back to the creepy male osteopath in town who has got weird with me since I started transitioning. Well done, me!
