We could all only wish to be so fortunate, sounds like your mom is a real peach and you are a winner!

Well she told me that what's going on is a cross that God gave me and that is nothing to be ashamed of. She used to never be like this, but since she became quite spiritual, she changed and has become more understanding. I was never aware of this change till I finally came out and said something and didn't get the classic WTF reaction. I'm glad she took it and accepts me. I wish everyone else could have the same experience.

I was told to come over to the bright side and have a cupcake -looks around- WHERES MY CUPCAKE!! ;D

I talked to my mom again and she has turned into a very good source of kindness. She reassures me all the time that it will be ok and that is happening to me for a reason. She doesn't disagree with the physical changes I want to make. I think once I get going she may become my best friend. YAY!!

So glad things are going well between you and your mom!

And I didn't forget- here's your cupcake!

I would totally enjoy a Melly cupcake haha

You are one special & lucky gal, Melly! Glad that your mom has been so accepting. I'm sure she will come to understand the physical changes you want to make in time. The most important part is that she supports your soul. It's wonderful hearing about your progress.

Which do you prefer, classic chocolate or red velvet :-*

Surprisingly she asked me when I told her if I wanted to change myself and I said yes. She shook her head and said alright, if that's what you want then its fine. I told her that I needed recommendations from a therapist and she just said do what needs to be done in your mind. The only part she said after that which made me cringe of the old days was...Don't make this into a perversion of what you feel. Do it right.

Yesterday actually but only just able to get on.  Spoke to crowd of over 100 at the Marriage Equality BBQ in Launceston and covered the situation of Trans and Intersex people in Australia regarding legal anomalies and the failings of the current Federal Marriage Act.

I htink it went well judging by the comments from members of the crowd afterwards, and on FaceBook.  Also good to see a couple of State MP's and a Govt Minister in the crowd.

Scary :o but decided it had to be done   ;D and couldn't have done it without the support of my girlfriend Andrea. :-*

Had a great time tonight. Keaira and I watched a documentary on the CIA human experiments, then we watched both Silent Hill movies. Followed by some music videos and parodies.

I particularly enjoyed seeing her creeped out by the horror films. She's not a big fan of horror, but we watched The Fourth Kind before this...when she's creeped out, she hugs herself just a little, her eyes kind of get bigger and she looks unusually innocent as a result. :P

I've spent so many years looking up from the bottom of a well at the idea of being myself in whole that I really don't know what to do with the fact that I am staring down a very very short home stretch. :icon_blink:  Today I had my pre-op appointment and in three months I will be home free.  Actually though I don't cry anymore I may well up. :icon_cry:
Well spoken, I'm sure that many here can relate! I'm confident that you will overcome any anxiety of finally becoming the real Liam Erik, finished and whole! My best to you....

I was discussing the progress of my transition with one of my colleagues... and she said that as soon as I get my HRT prescription, she's going to throw me a 'T' Party in the office.  ;D

Sounds nice. Sounds like you have some nice friends. Hold them close to your heart always and you will never know sadness. :D

Good luck on your transition and I wish you the best. No matter what obstacles appear in your path, keep your head up and keep on the path that you want to follow. You may be like me and bitch every now and then , but as long as you stay true to yourself everything will work out in the end. I promise you that ;D

Received an invite to go bowling from a few friends I haven't seen in a while. The winter storm that passed through was very pretty.
Watching the birds made me feel like taking a journey. The people, the landscapes, everything was imperfect but beautiful.

Just received a letter from the NHS saying that my funding has been approved so I can attend a GIC.

I got around to watching Ten Inch Hero (the main characters work at a sandwich shop, you perv). I wanted to watch it again as soon as it was over.
Jensen Ackles in a kilt with spiked, dyed hair, and piercings.

My mum came round today & gave me a new pair of hair straighteners, it may seem like a small thing but for my mum this is a huge step towards acceptance.
I was even brave enough to keep my bra on under my gender neutral clothes (I took out the padding as I don't want to force the issue too much).
Now if only I could get her to use my real name we'd really be getting somewhere
