I was going through some old family photos (one of them is my new avatar) and I came across a letter that I wrote to my brother when I was 15 and he was 18, back when I spent six months living overseas with my Dad.
It was wonderful to see what 15-year-old me was into. Amongst the things I mentioned in this letter there was a list of all the music tapes I had at the time, as well as a description of what was on them. The highlight of that particular week was when I bought an Echo & the Bunnymen single on vinyl in the local record shop. I was
ridiculously excited about that, for some reason.
It also reminded me that my brother & I had a habit of referring to each other's previous letter by putting the word 'letter' in quotes, as a way of mocking the rubbish we used to write to each other. According to the number of quotes I used, this was the eighth """"""""letter"""""""" I'd sent him that year.
