Saturday night I went out with my baby chickas, two of my best sister friends to a pub. It was a celebration on two fronts, one has her first anniversary on hormones & last Monday introduced herself to her coworkers as full time female, me, as I hadn't seen them in 8 months updated them on my journey & that I should be starting on hormones later this month. My other sister has been on hormones 4 years now. We have all been supportive of each other. We have known each other about ten years. We all have a wonderful sense of humor & had a lot of laughs.

When we met I don't think we would have been on a journey that has taken us this far, that we have shared. Our lives are amazing and enjoying it so much!

Finally decided that there was enough boobage to allow me to ditch the bra inserts I have used for a while now.  :)
My fiancée telling me her classic campervan is back on the road.   :) :)

Watch out, the Highwayman knows the way to Adelaide, so you could have a van in your driveway any time.  ;)
Andrea and her Dad took a trip over there last year and we want to take it back over to the big island soon.

I finally, 100% decided on my new name. Now I just need to keep searching for a job to make it legal.

Let us know how it goes for you, you used to have to go to Olympia in person with a note from the SRS surgeon to get an (F) marker on your driver license. You could go to court and get your name changed to a female name and then get your license changed with your new name and female photo but the marker still was (M), so perhaps they have made it easier? I know for certain that if you were born in Washington state you cannot get your gender changed on your birth certificate.

I was going through some old family photos (one of them is my new avatar) and I came across a letter that I wrote to my brother when I was 15 and he was 18, back when I spent six months living overseas with my Dad.

It was wonderful to see what 15-year-old me was into. Amongst the things I mentioned in this letter there was a list of all the music tapes I had at the time, as well as a description of what was on them. The highlight of that particular week was when I bought an Echo & the Bunnymen single on vinyl in the local record shop. I was ridiculously excited about that, for some reason.

It also reminded me that my brother & I had a habit of referring to each other's previous letter by putting the word 'letter' in quotes, as a way of mocking the rubbish we used to write to each other. According to the number of quotes I used, this was the eighth """"""""letter"""""""" I'd sent him that year. :)

Received my V.T.N.E. score today.  477.  Now if the state of Oregon would just send my testing for my license.

It does not take courage or bravery to change your gender.  It takes fear of living one more day in the wrong one.~me

Yay! Woof! Screech!

They've definitely made it easier.  There's a nifty standard form and instructions nowadays: http://www.dol.wa.gov/driverslicense/genderchange.html

I don't think that's true.  The following blurb lifted from a 2012 ACLU publication titled "The Rights of Transgender People in Washington State" (http://www.aclu-wa.org/sites/default/files/attachments/Transgender%20guide%20revise5.12.2.3_0.pdf):

"Can a person get their name and gender marker
changed on their birth certificate?

Yes. A court-ordered name change (as discussed above) is necessary to
change the name on a birth certificate.
With regard to changing the gender marker, Washington statutes do
not specify what is required. However, the Department of Health has
developed a procedure explaining that individuals who want to change
the gender designation on their own birth certificates must make a
request in writing to the State Registrar at the Department of Health,
and include:

•A letter from the requestor identifying the record by name, date
of birth, parents' names, and place of birth and explaining the
change being requested and giving appropriate new information
such as name and gender;
•A letter, on applicable letterhead, from the requester's
medical or osteopathic physician stating that the requester has
had the appropriate clinical treatment; and
•An original or certified copy of a Court Ordered Name
Change, if requesting a name change.

If the Department denies the request to change gender designation, its
decision can be appealed to a court under RCW 34.05.542(3)."

Went to WalMart and found a cheap Walking Dead t-shirt. I have to feed my newest obsession, ya know? The simple, inexpensive things in life are the best.
