Stood on the scales this morning and I'm finally 20lbs beneath my starting weight this past summer.  Weight loss was one thing I told myself I could do to start to prepare for transition without anybody in the entire world knowing about it.  I'm now close to the middle of where I should be for my height and build.

Feeling healthier but hungrier.   :(

Next step, keeping it off.

From an aesthetic standpoint, I think my body looks more feminine in size and general shape, except my face is now noticeably less rounded and "chubby" (and consequently looks more masculine to me).  But whatever.  Weight loss and exercise have certainly stabilized my huge dysphoria ups and downs (and turned it into a more constant but less severe down), and it's a general change in lifestyle that has me feeling more sprightly and positive.

Just thought I'd share just for those people in my situation who are also firmly stuck in a closet with little chance of coming out anytime soon.  There are baby steps we can take in private that can be done without anyone noticing.  I even had people encouraging me, although they didn't know the real reason behind why I wanted to lose weight.

Getting healthier is a very good thing with more benefits down the line   :)

Losing weight was the very first thing I did too. In retrospect it was the first step in my transition:)

You certainly feel better too! Good luck with next 20lbs. That's about what I have left too :o

Congratulations!  I'm sure it feels wonderful!

The best way to keep the weight of is to see extra weight as a symptom, and not the problem.  Keep up eating healthy and exercising, even when you hit your target weight, and you should be fine :)
Sometimes I blog things

Of course I'm sane.  When trees start talking to me, I don't talk back.

Yay!

Losing weight is the first thing I'm working on. I'm hoping to talk to an endocrinologist and find out what weight I should be at before starting hrt. I've lost closing in on 60 pounds this year. I want to try to feel optimistic about that ... but after losing 60 pounds ... I'm down to 198 or so. That big number is making what should be an accomplishment feel rather hollow at the moment.
