I think weighing as much as I did was really unnatural for me. As soon as I stopped lifting and trying to put on weight I just lost it all. I have a really high metabolism and I really don't eat that much so I just lost the way without really trying to.

btw I was a tight end, until I became a wide receiver lol ;). I also played outside line backer but I cant really make that sound sexual.

LMFAO, That made me laugh, I didn't catch it at first until you pointed it out. Hilarious, But I really am trying hard, I haven't worked out in years but I still kept big muscles. So I am focusing on losing right now. I will be so happy when I brake below 200. But that should be December or January. Gotta quit smoking also...

HRT is the key, as is cutting protein, cardio cardio cardio, and sucking up the absolute misery of eating 1200 calories a day.  Did I forget to mention cardio?

Worse than electrolysis.

Going vegetarian is the fastest way I've found to lose muscle quickly, but it's truly unpleasant

Don't go crazy though.  Being in shape is far more attractive (to me) than being unheathily skeletal.  There are plenty of bigger girls out there who are stunning, and plenty of waifs who look like crack addicts.

Yeah I don't want to be rail thin, but 150 Is where I want to be. I float around 1200 to 1500 calories. No fat intake no salt, no starch no bread,
salads and fish or chicken cooked on a foreman grill. Those work btw. the real key is cutting portions, only eat to be satisfied not full. If you feel full then you ate to much.

I had weight loss surgery last March and lost a tonne of weight fairly quickly and with it, a lot of muscle mass. This whilst on a high protein diet. I've gained a little weight back (I relapsed on sweets due to stress) but I'm trying to break the addiction again. I want to get down to around 158-160. I was 162 at my lowest and right now I'm 166-168. I just need to get off the crap foods again.

I lost 35 pounds after having lived in a small mill town in Oregon for a year. I was originally around 175 lbs, and when I got back to Texas I was at 142. I had a very noticeable belly in any form-fitting clothing, so I wore a jumper for several years. My family are big eaters and don't pay any attention to diet, so we always ate lots of Mexican and Italian food. Being away from that for so long has done me some good. I didn't really shy away from unhealthy foods like pizza and salami/pastrami sandwiches, but I ate considerably less.

Plus, I was taking an herbal supplement called kratom once or twice daily which is rich in beneficial alkaloids and fiber. It also really aids in anxiety and focus. Don't go looking for it in stores, though. It's still in a very controversial place in society due to its analgesic properties. Anyway, due to the fiber content it helped with suppressing appetite. And it helps in regulating blood sugar levels so that sweet cravings are diminished. Because it's not an FDA approved dietary supplement I cannot condone its usage. I can only say how it has helped me in various ways.

Also, after returning to Texas, I was finally able to get meds for ADHD. As some of you might now, one of the potential side effects of stimulants is appetite suppression, so the first month was almost like Ramadan for me, and I ended up watching my fat belly shrink in size. No more wearing jumpers all the time, although I probably will, anyway. It might be hot outside here, but it's always freezing to me everywhere I go that's indoors. But yeah, stimulant meds will burn fat like mad, and possibly even reduce muscle mass. I certainly don't condone that kind of off-label usage, though. I'm only reporting my experience. Now that I'm used to it my appetite is back, so I keep things in shape through yoga.

And you don't have to be flexible to start yoga. I was a rigid automaton when I started, and I'm still not there, but I'm seeing (and feeling) progress.

I can't say I've avoided meat proteins in my diet, but I haven't had a steak in over a year. It doesn't even really appeal to me anymore. I did have pork, though. :/ Most of what I eat is chicken, fish, fruit, granola, raw veg, portabella mushrooms, and stuff like tempeh and natto. I don't touch any kind of soy that hasn't been fermented. Tofu, soy milk and similar things might aid in estrogen production, but really aren't good for you otherwise.

Sorry to ramble completely off topic. I've never been all that good with short-and-sweet responses. I'm not even that yappy in person. I guess that's why it channels into my writing.

When I look at myself, some of my features just seem off to me and remind me of my old self even though I know that it's changed a lot. What specifically do you think causes me to look less feminine? I'm thinking my....idk lol

2 words... absolutely nothing!

You are gorgeous Llerret. I can't see anything but girl in your features.

What's probably going on is that you still recognize aspects as your face that were a part of your image when presenting male. Of course, that face is imprinted in your brain after seeing it in the mirror for so many years. So it's only natural that you think you see male there because your brain is still using those old neural pathways that associate aspects of your face with the guy you used to present as.

But trust me, you look 100% woman. Be happy with the person you see in the mirror--she is beautiful!  :D ;D

there really is nothing masculine about the way you look. you are so beautiful! I am totally jealous of how good you look, and I think most other women would be too. so keep ur head up. I think we all feel like we all think we look more masculine then we do, because we have seen the male version for such a long time. but trust me you pass and then some!

So, I can't grow my hair long right now which I know isn't helping my case, and I am scheduled with Spiegel for FFS later this year. Right now I am 29 and at 8 months HRT, just wondering how I look with no makeup or wigs or anything else right now.

You could probably be a model, right now.

If you want to be a model, I'd say go for it right now.  This is how stunning you look.

Don't wait too long.  The opportunity to be young and a model doesn't last forever.

Hugs,
Johanna.
I am female.

I'd hit on you, and I don't even know the first thing about flirting. :P In that pic you've got a butch thing going on, and that usually gets my attention. That may not be your final form, but it works for me. I'm eager to see what you show us next time. :)

I would have to disagree about the protein (and to some extent the 1200 calories).  Protein is only an issue if you work out in a muscle building way.  I consume lots of protein (as shakes,  bars and the fact that I live on quinoa)  and have not had much in the firm of muscle gain.  My workout however is tailored to Toning and stretching, so my body repairs muscles Conducive to that.  I .e. Slim and toned.  As for calories,  use a calorie calculator to determine where you should be at.  Not eating enough calories can drive your body into retention mode,  causing you to maintain or even gain weight with a low calorie count.  Start at a few hundred calories below what you need to maintain,  and as you loose weight you can decrease it down to 1200. Up until a few months ago,  I was looking weight at 1500 calories,  however I recently stopped losing,  so I re evaluated, and am now at 1350. Remember don't look just at your Weight,  examine your physique.  You should be focusing on decreasing body fat not overall weight,  as you  an actually be incredibly thin but bordering obese because you have almost no muscle but all fat.  To loose fat you need to tone tone tone.  Toned muscle is heavier than fat,  so if you gain weight,  remember to check if your body fat percent went down.  If it did you probably just toned muscle.

As for workouts I do Barre method (physique 57)  and yoga,  at least one a day even if it's 20 mins of yoga

Forgot to mention a vegan /gluten free diet helps,  but overall think healthy.  I'm a health nut (obsessive almost),  but you don't have to be,  just watch what you put in your body

gluten free diet does absolutely nothing for you unless you have celiac disease.  there is just no science for it.
