Oh, I know how it feels.

I actually think you'll be very attractive once you let that guy out :). And updating the wardrobe can be a bit frustrating, but it's also a great feeling once you find some stuff that fits and feels comfortable!

Hm, now I'm motivated to do my own hair/help me make my face look less femme thread. Maybe...

Yeah, the "finding something that fits" part will probably be the biggest issue haha. Even when I used to shop for "girl clothes", I never fit in anything. Shirts were either too big, or just the right size except for the chest area. Pants were similar.. Too large, or too tight in the hip/thigh area. My short limbs have always given me issues, too. They're "proportionate", sure, but too short for like 98% of clothes.  :P (I wonder if a binder would help with shirts..? At least in the chest area. I'm not huge, but any shirt that's small enough to fit my frame and arms is usually too small in the chest)

And you totally should!  ;D I can try to help find you something you'd like, too.

Is it something you really want, or just playing with the idea? o:

Nah it makes sense.  :P It's just a little surprising because it's not an opinion I hear very often. I usually hear even confident short and/or skinny guys get mocked for doing that sort of thing. Short guys with big trucks seem to be a really common joke when it comes to short men overcompensating (and even though it's left a dent in my own confidence, I always thought it was weird how tall guys are allowed to have, act, and do certain things, but short guys are somehow not worthy?)

It's actually something I want but at the same time playing around with the idea. Like I said if I was 100%, Oh yeah definitely I would have a tramp stamp, A pinkish butterfly on my right ankle and a hummingbird in girly colors on my left hip.

Guys are gonna' mock, laugh and make fun of anything they think someone else has better than them. That is guy behavior. Guys make fun of your shortcomings. It really isn't anything personal. It isn't a personal attack. That is what guys do. To be completely honest, the more guys mess with you the more respect they have for you. Unless it is just mean and they want to hurt you physically. If they laugh and make jokes at your expense and you can take it and give as good as you get then you are in. If guys are scared you will beat their butts if they make fun of you, that isn't real respect and that means you don't belong. It means they are scared of you because you are crazy enough to actually hurt them and so on. Fear is not respect. Respect is belonging and that they feel comfortable enough to joke and put you down and you can put them down too. That, my dear, is male bonding. Guys are totally different than girls. When guys put you down they are looking to get put down themselves. It is fun to them and for some reason gives them a bond with each other. Just keep that in mind.

Not to derail this thread, but a binder could help with the chest issue!

Well, maybe I will make my own thread. Need to work up my courage though ;)

Are butterfly on the ankle tattoos popular? o: I ask because my Mom just so happens to have one on her ankle, too! You sound like you know what you want, though, so once you feel ready, you should totally go for it.  ;D

And ha, I guess that has some truth to it.. Ask anyone I've ever known and they'd tell you I'm big on "teasing" lol. So I guess I can't complain too much when I'm not really much better, myself.  :P

I better get my "measurements" then!  :D I hate when people can see my chest (even under clothes), but if it's to finally look good in actual decent clothing? Worth it.

And there's nothing to worry about -- clearly everyone here is super nice with this sort of thing.  ;) I doubt your experience will be any different.

Ah. I don't know but I do like butterflies though. I don't know if they are popular or not but your mom and I am probably are about the same age just looking at your pictures.

That hon, is how you fit in with guys. If you get mad then they will definitely not consider you part of the group. The more you can give back, the more they will consider you part of the "pack". If you can give back as good as you get, you've got it made. To be completely honest I think guy's whole bonding experience is to try to make one of their friends cry. And then if they do, they will never hear the end of it. OMG, girl bonding is so much easier and more natural. Of course I have been on both sides so...

You think so? Haha. I won't ask you your age, but my Mom is 50. (but shhh, don't tell her I said that on a public forum  )

Yeah, even though I'm definitely not a woman, I've always got along easier with the gals.  :P They're more friendly hahaha. It's definitely something I'll miss if I start transitioning.. because there will suddenly be this "wall" between myself and women. But I don't think I'll have too much trouble making friends with women as a man. My femininity might help with that, hah. Plus I'm not a creep or a jerk (well, minus the teasing lol).

I'm pretty close. OMG you kids make me feel so old sometimes. Now I'm depressed. Thank you littleredrobinhood. ::) Sarcasm. I think I may tell your mom. What is her number? ;D

Seriously though. As long as you can give back as good as you get, and it sounds like it, you'll be OK. Yeah I've always bonded with women easier than men until I learned the male bonding stuff. Women was always much easier for me.

Awww, please don't call my ma! I'm beggin' ya! I'm too old for that!  :icon_cry2:

But ha, you've no reason to feel bad, sarcasm or not.  ;) I think of it this way; food isn't considered "old" until it has expired. And "expired" - when applied to humans - typically means "dead". In other words, you ain't old til you're dead.

I put a ticker in my sig counting down until my Dad gets home!  (He has to take me, so I can't do anything until he gets back)

Seems like something really petty to make a ticker for, but hey -- I felt left out!  :P (plus it's a pretty big deal to me. and my sig felt really empty)

I feel dead sometimes. Does that count? ;) Expired? :-\ Not yet. the world ain;t gonna' get that lucky. >:-)

I don't care how old you are. I'm still tellin' on you. :o

Seriously though, you're gonna' do fine. Just from this little go around. >:-)

But for the hair. I still say keep at least shoulder length at least. Short haired guys are so boring. I live in the land of bald heads and extremely short hair and I don't know if they are bada$$es like Kerry King and hit on them as a bad girl or put on a longer dress and go to church with them. :-\ Of course some of those church guys are more freaky than me. :embarrassed:

OMG I would give anything to have hair like yours though, guy or girl. But yeah lower shoulder blade length or a little longer than shoulder length would be just about right. It really is a little too long now and probably weighing itself down quite bit. Mine is curly and when I reach behind my back and pull it straight it is about halfway down my back. But the curls take a lot of length.

Haha, no, it doesn't count.  :P You're not dead until you're in the ground. Or an urn.. or whatever lol.

And soooorry, I'm going "boring"  ;) haha (likewise, though. I've always wished to have curly hair. Could never understand when my Mom straightened hers hahaha)

Don't go that boring. But yeah curly is soooooo easy. A little antifrizz, gel and then shake my head like a dog and when the gel dries run my fingers through it to make it soft and almost perfect every time. But different every time.

Uh... the best thing I can tell you is a little at a time. If you cut it all off at once, guy or girl, you may regret it. Stages. If not and you go really dramatic it will be shock. Guy or girl. Even if I wasn't MTF trans I would still have long hair, maybe not quite as long as it is now but still longer at least.

As long as your hair is though, You go really dramatically short it will be a shock. You can split it down the middle and cut it straight in the front and it will make it a little longer in the back and shorter in the front. That is what I do with mine. I trim mine myself and if I want a certain style then I got a guy I go to.

God, if my hair was as long as yours( I really wish) anything shorter than shoulder I would probably cry like a baby.

I found this to be true, too.  I can go from a mens L, which is too long and a bit off the shoulder, to a men's M which fits great (except around my hips, which I'm working on)  Still major boob outline though, even with the binder  :-\

Oh, haircut thread--Would really like to see what you end up with.   I've got a cut that ends up looking like a girl pixie. I'm looking for something more androgynous.

OK, I'm working on it (well, me :D). I just got a haircut, and my hair dresser was really awesome but I chickened out when he suggested chopping off the sides entirely ;). I like the new cut, but I continue to hate my face. [emoji33]

I'll take pics this weekend. Promise [emoji12]
