I totally enjoy "male gear" and accessories - but how on earth am I ever going to fit all my stuff into one of those tiny wallets?

So this is the one accessory I'm not willing to give up (yet): it's a big yellow leather wallet. I refuse to gender accessories, but it would definitely be perceived as a "girl's wallet". [emoji16] And it totally doesn't fit into the back pocket of my jeans. [emoji12]

Have all of you guys switched to (or even always used) the "male wallet"?

Peaking over the backyard fence to give some friendly advice.
I use to use a surf wallet they usually have more pockets and compartments and are flexible enough to mould to your body.  Just remember to clean out the coins regularly as they will destroy any wallet in existence.

Also I was never a believer in the wallet goes in the back pocket. If I ever had to place it in my pants/jeans it was always the front pockets. For formal events I would carry it in my jacket pocket. Most times anyway I would have a small backpack on me, (not something uncommon with some people in Australia regardless of gender). I would just stash it in there with everything else I had on me during the day

I'm with the lady. A decent wallet has plenty of space in it. I never was a fan of huge wallets, so I've always had a small tri fold one. It wasnt a "male" wallet, but it was nondescript. my grandmother bought it for me when i was still in high school. My old wallet broke (the leather was very old)and I really need to replace it, but I've been using a business card holder for a while now. I carry mine in a front pocket or in my suit jacket, though I'm out of suits for the time being since they were old.

I will say that in Japan everyone, male or female, has those huge honking ones and they just have then dangled precariously in their back pockets. I do carry a small shoulder bag though, which is very common here and back in Alaska amoung younger people. Messenger bags don't look out of place.

I compromise on a day to day basis honestly. I have my wallet(for the days I know I'll need my all my IDs and cards coupons etc) those days I'll wear a jacket with an inside pocket or blazer. Days I know I won't need much other than license card and some cash i just get a money clip fits right in any jean pocket so. Hope that helps bit

Ha, interesting responses. I should say that I'm not really bothered by the fact that I use the wallet it use. But it's interesting to hear what everyone else is doing.

I don't do shoulder bags because of back issues, so I just always carry a backpack.

That's because wallets aren't for coins!!! That's what the little change pocket in dude pants is for. Then when you get home you chuck them onto a table, or dresser or into a jar until they build up en masse and have to be taken to the bank...! ;D

Well, the awesome thing about men's pants is POCKETS. Like proper sized ones! What on earth were designers thinking when they stuck those tiny alibi pockets on women's jeans?

European money includes lots of coins, so I always carry a ton. No surfer wallet for me, I guess ;).

Man-pockets were an incredible discovery for me. How I managed to get by with teeny weeny pockets on womens clothes is beyond me  :D

I have a huge wallet that holds 12 cards, has extra space for other crap behind the card holders. (I store my business cards and stuff like coffee house loyalty stamp things in there) Plus a slot for notes and a coin area. The middle part zips out to transform it into a slimmer version if I don't need quite so much stuff. It's the swiss army knife of wallets :P

I could never go back to a slim no room for coins wallet ever. It fits into my back pocket if I'm wearing baggy jeans but I have to take it out before I sit down or it's like sitting on a boulder  :D usually it's in a front pocket on a chain clipped to my belt loop.

I have always used men's wallets.  I just minimize what I carry.  You can search for thinner wallets that you can still get a lot in.  I don't know if you want to spend this much on a wallet, but it will give you an idea of what is out there.

I gotta echo with the "coins destroy wallets" part. It's true, I've lost two wallets to coins and a third one is one the way. 8I But in Europe, there's a need for coins. No one euro bills or anything.

But I can't understand how one can stuff their wallet in the back pocket of their pants and be comfortable. Mine is thick, even when I don't have any coins and I have emptied it from receipts and such, I just have so many cards to carry with me. :'D

Conversely I have never understood the "woman's wallet." How much stuff do you need? Lol. I carry my bus pass, drivers license, debit card and sometimes credit card, some cash, and a gift card if I have one at the time.

Lol, LOTS of stuff, Birkin!

Seriously, the coins are a problem in Europe (my biggest probably). As Tossu writes, we don't have 1$ bill equivalents - instead one and two Euro coins, plus 50 / 10 / 5 / 2 / 1 cent. Coin craziness, I tell you!

Ooh, the bellroy wallets look awesome. I want one now, thanks Brett ;).

I just use a money clip wallet where I carry my cards and use the clip for cold hard cash.

I've been using a 'male wallet' for as long as I can remember. You'll learn that you don't need everything you think you do :D

I was using a hard type wallet for a while (those rectangle ones with awesome designs on it. Mine was Zelda)
But I was having major issues pulling it from my pockets so I went ahead and grabbed a men's Zelda wallet and actually it's been great. Got 3 card spots which is all I really need anyways and shove the rest in the little back slip for like my grocery card, savers cards ect, stuff some cash in behind it all and my ID on the other side.
I was super worried I wouldn't have enough space either but being in the US coins are more of a hassle than a must so it works out fairly ok.
I run a FtM blog where I pour my experiences out for others to read. Check it out!

My wallet has been a total disaster. I'm so looking forward to getting rid of it.

I have always carried a male wallet. From the time I was about 8(I worked on a farm, and was getting paid, so I needed somewhere for my cash). I learned to minimize the cards and everything that I carry. I typically carry a tri-fold. It always all the cards that I need, and I still actually have room with it.

Just a side note, if you have a lot of like loyalty cards(to stores and what not where they give you points for shopping) a lot of them you can now transfer to your smartphone. No more cards but they are always with you. I have probably about 15 cards on my phone because it most definately saves room!

On rare events, I used a "coin purse", but for the most part, I just carried the money and cards I need in my pocket.  I'm actually forcing myself to use a wallet, and it is more of a burden than needed.  The only reason I use it is because it is an old 3D power rangers wallet and I just want to show it off.  I should have another wallet coming in the mail soon that resembles a $100 bill.  That is even thinner so that could possibly be less of a burden.

I tried that but some of the terminals wouldn't scan the phone properly. The good news is that they offer key tags now so I just put them on my keys. There are really only one or two I use regularly anyway.
