I know I can pass with makeup but I'm wondering if I pass without as in the picture below.

Agreed.  And your hair is fantastic.  I wish I could get mine to grow that long.

I can't post any non makeup natural pictures yet because I am not yet out, and all my pictures are pre anything.

So I have to decide if I am going to go to my first counseling session as me or as my old self.  I need to know if I am close to being able to pass enough to go out in public and not look like a dude in makeup and try to figure out what hair style/color looks best on me.  I just don't know what looks the best.

So between the ones I've posted any suggestions???  Comments???  Am I ready for my close up??  At 53 I know I am running out of time.....

Here are a few additional ones

Jessie, the second pic.  The hair and the dress look just right.  You look the most natural and your smile seems more real in that picture too.  You look great!

Missy, um... YEAH YOU PASS!  You look great.  I love your hair.

you dont seem to look 53,  I think you look young for your age.  you look great by the way!  your makeup skills are much better than mine.  Anyway if you are uncomfortable, for the time being, dressed and made up like that(outside) can you not just go dressed as you normally would?

Also I think your 3rd photograph hairstyle looks the best(the one with you in the blue top).  ;)

I honestly can say, I can't from these photos see any vestiges of a 'man' in there.

you look 100% female to me

Thank you ChiGirl  -  I'm just going to have to wear different shoes.  I don't think 5" animal platforms will work for me out in the real world.  I want to blend in and not stand out and at 6'7" I don't think I could blend in as a female anywhere other than a WNBA practice.   ::)

Jessie Ann,

You are going WAY overboard with the makeup.  A key part of passing is not looking like a drag queen; it's unfortunate, but that's an image commonly associated with trans women.  Sometimes, less is more.  I tend to focus more on my contour than my eyes, and it does me a lot of good.  Remember, subtle is what's going to help you pass-not dramatics.  Drama is fun, but not practical.  You might want to consider not lining under your eyes so thickly.  Remember-subtle works.  It takes more time to learn, but once you figure out what works for you, passing will seem a lot more in reach.
My gender problem isn't half as bad as society's.  Although mine is still pretty bad.

:D

looks like the makeup style my older sister wears.  It does look like you are going out for a night on the town.

Thanks Joanne -  I am beginning to really see myself with that style full time.  My natural hair is just about to the point where I might be able to pull that off with a little bit of coloring and styling.

Hi Tegan,

I think you look great.  I think the only one that isnt quite there is the first photo.  Perhaps it is the profile and your cheek bones or even a bad shadow cast from the light.

The rest are very feminine and a very great looking face/body.  Im a bit jealous actually.  ::)

I think you have great, strong features that make you beautiful and I am sure you will get even more so as you progress.

;)

Holy wow, Joanne. Thank you so much for your kind words.

So, for some reason one is no bueno. Okay. Well, can I ask if whatever it is that's grabbing you in that pic is also present in my "guy mode" pic? I'm curious.

Thanks!

That's because it is my going out for a night on the town look  ;)

Here is a little more muted look.  More natural looking and hopefully not to masculine.

And in this one, you pass best of all I think!  When it becomes an option, sculpting your eyebrows will go a long way.  It's not to natural at all-remember, you are a woman; you don't need to perform femininity.  I think one of the keys to passing is not making your gender expression a performance, at least not an overt one.  This looks like an easy, natural expression-and it looks pretty darn great.

I think it was the way the hair frames your face on the front profile.  With your hair cut on the first pic you can see you have a strong jaw and cheek bones.    Im the same probably, though in fact your probably much better at presenting than me,  I don't even know where to start.

You wear nice clothes and seeing you and others on this site really is inspiring for me to be myself too.

You have only been on HRT for 3 months?  Have you had any other work done on for face like surgery as your guy mode pic doesnt look too guyish to me.
