Should it be 'two transgender people'? ' two transgenders' is a little dehumanising.

I think "transgenders" could be a translation of "travesti", a word that doesn't easily translate to English. Travesti are not men, they are not really "transvestites", and they don't describe themselves as women in the way most trans-feminine people in the U.S. do.

No, I saw the word "travesti" in local reports and decided to translate that with "transgender". English is not my native language, the wrong plural was an honest mistake :(

Pinknews actually mentioned the choice of words in Brazilian media.

"NB. Brazilian media refer to trans women as 'gay men' or 'transvestites'."

It's also reported that in the mean time, two more Brazilian transwomen were killed.

What is wrong with Brazil? Its not even the end of January and they almost 50 known murders of trans women.
