Love the smile and the curls. [emoji4] Your hair is even more curly than mine. Just wondering, have you ever tried to straighten it? I have thought about it for me. The hair dresser straightened mine when I got it cut. (Almost traumatizing in itself) It took her over 45 minutes. I only spend 5 minutes on my hair a day. Get it wet in the shower, towel dry it a little, put a little oil on it to keep down the frizz and then diffuse on cool for two or three minutes. I like that it is so easy and comes out the same every day. I loved the way my hair looked that one day and I would like to be able to do that myself. Everyone said that I looked like my mom, my one aunt kept calling and messaging me all day."I just can't believe it!" I don't really remember my mom when she was younger, we never got to know each other until I was an adult. She was pretty and even if I can't be pretty, I could have that connection with her. She passed away two months after I started hormones, she hadn't woke up since going into the hospital 3 weeks before I started HRT. I never told her. I wanted to wait even when I saw her that week she went int the hospital she seemed fine and I was so close. Meh, doesn't matter. Point is, sometimes I think that I would like a straight hair day. Don't you hate how much longer it takes to LOOK like it has any kind of length at all? [emoji4] Three an a half years with that one little trim and finally my hair is down to my areola when I am in the shower. When it's dry it only goes to about 2 inches below my collar bone though. Grr! Stupid curls! Haha, sounds like I am complaining. [emoji2][emoji2] I like my hair, just sometimes I wish... Look at how nice and straight her hair is! Or, Look how beautiful Brooke's curly hair is. The grass is always greener I suppose.

I have had my hair straightened as well. By my hairdresser like yourself. I definitely get that "you look like your mom". I am naturally salt and pepper, as is my mom. When my hair was straightened I got a photo and compared it side by side with a photo of her. We looked so alike it was eerie.
Although my hairdresser also straightens it for every cut, I don't know that I'll ever really want it blown out or something. I think the straight hair makes my face look much longer, and more masculine. My morning hair routine is near identical to yours. I think we are definitely spoiled as we can have a consistent look daily with just a few minutes of work.
That being said I can totally relate to the frustration of curly hair showing no length. My hair wet, or straightened is a few inches below my neck, curly, a few inches above still. It is at least at a length that is fairly feminine. Though I'm thinking I'll keep growing it out for years to come. Would love to have the curls get to mid back when dry. Patience.
I'm sorry to hear about your mom's passing. I can totally get the want/need for that type of connection. I know when I had those pictures to compare to it was the first time I felt I resembled my mother's daughter.
So nice to hear from another curly hair girl. I love it! Thanks for the wonderful compliments :-)
