Nice pictures Alyssa.  Very feminine. Ashley you look so good. Did you start estrogen before puberty or after?

Thanks so much for the sweet words Alyssa and Coldheart... Such a nice way to start the day!!!

And... Julia!... Thank you too!!!... I wished the option of hormones was available when I was in puberty but it was a much different time than where things are at today!!!... I started HRT at the end of 2013 at age 52! :)... Better late than never!!!!

Onward we go!!!!

Yup!... I turned 56 in April but I still feel like I am in my 30s although hopefully I am a bit wiser!!! You are so lucky Julia that you were born into a time when you can do this when you are young!!!

I do a lot of public speaking.. Often at the local University and I like to put the passage of time and the change it brings in perspective for the kids... I tell them that my grandmother rode on a horse pulled wagon all day when she was a little girl in Iowa to go see what an electric lightbulb looked like and that some day when they are the grandparents the time we are in now will seem equally as bygone to their grandkids....Enjoy every moment!!! Our lives are what we make the to be!!!

As a group I've noticed that we tend to look younger than we are. After all, there must be SOME benefits to this!
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

They say the light at the end of the tunnel is an oncoming train. I say, climb aboard!

That is so weird to think about. When I hear older people talking about the past or I see an old movie I always feel sorry for the people who lived back then . I think about them not having computers, cell phones, GPS, Twitter, movie and music streaming and I think how horrible it would have been to live back then with no technology. But then after I just read your post I thought of someone 19 years old like 80 years from now and they are gonna be thinking how sad and awful it was to live back in 2017. That's really freaky to imagine!

Hey Julia!

Your perspective on the passage of time will be constantly changing throughout your life!!!... Life without today's technology was different but in some ways less stressful and we enjoyed other things without feeling chained to all that tech has brought us... Information about things like being Trans was hard to come by though!!!!! Almost completely unheard of!!!

Today's tech will look like the Stone Age in two generations though!... Quantum computers are soon to be a reality and my fear as an oldster is that all this tech will be used in many ways to impose control and take away freedoms not support and enhance them... It will certainly be a challenging world to navigate but every generation has hurdles to clear...

There will come a time when you will think of these days as "the good ol' days" when life was simpler ... At that point you get to go out the front door in a bathrobe and yell.... "hey you kids!!!... Get off my lawn!!!" ...Although, perhaps by then all lawns will be required to be holographic to save water!!!...

Onward we go into the brave new world

Well you had a good doctor. It doesn't look like you had much surgery. I looked into ffs but my parents don't think I need it. The did let me get my lips done with filler though. Ouch! It totally hurt!

56?  Wow!  52 here.  I'm not big on posting my picture, but I have a cut and color scheduled for tomorrow, so maybe.  :)

Funny what you say about time.  My grandfather got into being a milkman because he loved the horses.  He said when you had to do someone's route because they were sick, you'd take their horse, and when it stopped in front of a house, you'd know you had to make a delivery there.  And when he worked his regular route, when he got to the last house on the end of a cul-de-sac, he'd make the delivery, and the horse would walk down to the end, turn around, and come back to pick him up.  Different times for sure!

Hi Lindsey and welcome to the forum as well :)

Yes the times change and the change comes so much quicker than we believe when we are young... I was born in 1961... 16 years after the end of WW2.... The war seemed like the ancient stuff of history books to me but I could see how much it had affected and touched the lives of adults around me... Now 16 years ago seems like last week!!!.... It's all perspective... Like I said... Enjoy each day and embrace the fact that we hold the steering wheel to our lives and can steer them wherever we want... Even if the road is sometimes a little rough getting there!!!

We would love to see your cut and color results if you feel like showing them off!!!  52 is a great age to start this if you are indeed starting transition now... The age lends a lot of perspective to the journey, it's spiritual aspects and what is important in life!!!... If I can be of any help along the way, please don't hesitate to let me know!!!

Onward we go brave sisters!!!

I Am Jess

I'm also 56. I was born one month after Ashley. Most people don't believe that I'm that old either. There is something in our transitions, when we are older, that seems to turn the clock back a decade or more.

Keep rocking it ladies!!!

My first job was in the computer room at Yamaha in 1969. In 1982 I logged into my first IBM PC with twin floppy disk with 64k memory. We landed a man on the moon with this technology. 1996 got my first cell phone. Since 1984 I have installed at least 10 major computer systems. In 1961 my skate board was a 2X4 attached to steel wheel skates.  In 1967 we had music worth recording. And we had double features and drive in movies. In 1972 my Dodge Demon had a 340 with 4 barrel carb and was orange. I saw Micky Mantle and Roger Maris, Hank Aaron, Sandy Kofax, Don Drysdale, Nolan Ryan, Bob Gibson, Carl Yastremski, Harmon Kilibrew. I saw Roman Gabriel, Kenny Stabler, the Fearsome Foursome and the Purple People eaters. Do I lament not having GPS. No, I seldom if ever have been lost and we had "Maps"
