Are my nipples going to be flat forever?

I'm kind of worried that I will have nipples with good color, that's coming in nicely, but no actual nipple just flat areoles. I hope I'm not coming off as vain and selfish, with this or any other posts. It just makes me sad seeing cis guys walking around in their tanks or with their shirts off and I notice things like their perky nipples. For me, I'm not so worried about sensation either to temperature or erotically, I've read most guys if they get sensation it's to temperature. Idk if I should talk to my surgeon about it at my next visit or if it's just not that big of a deal.

I have a nipple on my right side and the other side it's flat. It sucks but I don't think people really notice or will even look. They do make silicone nipples though, just a thought.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

I once knew a trans woman with inverted nipples. You never know what you're gonna get, but there is usually a surgeon that can correct it.

This may be a dumb question but are silicone nipples implants?

I don't think mine are inverted. Poor thing, I wouldn't want to have gone through that experience. Unless I'm being totally vain about something that's not that big of a deal. Maybe I need to get my mind out of the river of cis and be able to be happy with who I am and what I got. :-/

I am really hoping for my nipples to elongate. They are not flat but not long. I envy women with longer nipples. Maybe one day.

No, They are a little silicone nipple that you adhere with some type of medical adhesive over your existing nipple or if you had surgery and opted out of having a nipple you can use them as well. The ones I saw are on Etsy.

I'll have to look into them if it becomes a big enough problem for me. Thanks for that info!

If they don't stick out now I doubt they will in the future. Sorry. You're definitely not the only one who's self-conscious about this though. My right nipple sticks out but my left one doesn't really, but even my right one doesn't really look like a normal nipple. Instead of just one "peak", it's kind of just randomly bumpy. I don't know how well you can tell in these pictures.

Mine were absolutely flat for a few months post-op before they "popped". The left is still flatter than the right, but neither is as flat as they were immediately post-op.

Yeah, I'd say mine look more like a rough/bumpy, but not noticeably, area. Idk how to describe it without a picture but I'm kinda self conscious. It definitely sucks, I never thought I'd be so paranoid about my nipples :-(.

That's interesting, I wonder why that is and how the body does or doesn't do that. I think I might ask my doctor about to see if she knows.

I had surgery two years ago and my nips are still flat. You can go to a good surgeon to alter it. Or get realistic tattooing for the look but it still will be flat of course. I'm not worried so much about them protruding but I will get a chest plate tattoo to cover scars so I'llcover the nipples too.

Yeah I'm going to get a chest tattoo that I've been designing for a year or so. I guess I never thought about whether it would make a big difference in a tattoo piece if my nipples were out or not. Only that I'd prefer them to protrude some. Again Idk why it matters so much to me to be so much cis-like as a man.

When my sister recovered from breast cancer she had a double mastectomy and reconstruction with fat taken from her abdomen to make new a pair. A year later they took a bit more fat and have her nipples. I wonder if this is done for Transmen to create the protrusion?

Hm, I would never have thought of that. I'll have to ask my surgeon because that sounds like a good idea, and maybe not too difficult (?).

How long after surgery will nipplies pop out? I know the expansive tissue is there because it gave me so many problems during recovery, but it seems like the skin would have to grow to accommodate that.

So did you get a nipple like protrusion after some time?

Left is one month post-op, right is today at 16 months post-op. I don't remember exactly when they stopped being flat, but they did at some point along the line.

Wow that's a big difference! I'm not quite 2 months post op, so that gives me hope. Thanks for sharing!
