Hi all,
I am starting to get my ducks in a row to select a breast aug. surgeon. The  obvious questions I have are:
1  Do they have experience with trans women?
2  Do they take my insurance as I will attempt to get it covered as medical necessity?
3  Do they do a sizing as part of the consult?
4  What types of implants do I have options for with them? Saline, silicone, gummy bears?
5  Cost for consult?

   Any other thoughts?

   As for the actual consult,
1  What is cost of implants? Surgery?
2  What is revision policy?
3  Where incisions made?

   Other thoughts? Thanks!

Hi Monica, I went to Dr. McGinn. Originally I was to have my BA with my GCS on 11/15/2016. That did not happen due to a medical reason during GCS and I had it on 7/25/2017. I had 555 ml Mentor cohesive silicone. The max Mentor makes is 800 ml. When I scheduled the BA with GCS it was $8,000 for everything.

1  Do they have experience with trans women? YES

2  Do they take my insurance as I will attempt to get it covered as medical necessity? Aetna paid for the BA, it is a rider to my employer insurance

3  Do they do a sizing as part of the consult? Dr. McGinn and Chrystal were in the room and Dr. McGinn asked what size I want To be. I said I do not know and that I did not want to be too big and average female size would be good. I am a 42B  or 40C. Sometimes I want bigger but most of the time I feel I am just right. Dr. McGinn showed me a 325 mentor silicone implant for comparison. No seizers were used.

4  What types of implants do I have options for with them? Saline, silicone, gummy bears?Saline or cohesive silicone (gummies)
5  Cost for consult? No cost, I was there for a post op check up.

   Any other thoughts?
If I were to do it again I would want 800 ml but knowing none of it would fit under my muscle and the potential for them to break the newly created breast fold I think I would opt for the 555 ml. If I wanted larger I would do it 5 years later.

   As for the actual consult,
1  What is cost of implants? Surgery? $8,000
2  What is revision policy? Do not know
3  Where incisions made? Under my breast.

I'd want to see what the stitching and scars look like. I tried looking on some surgeons sites and all the photo's were made such that you couldn't see either.
