well something wonderful happened to me this week....

after 6 years of prodding from my hubby i finally got in touch with all my family last week. i'm talking to my mother again (1st time in 15 years) i'm having great email contact with my 16 year old baby sister (who i named and raised for 4 her first 4 years of life), i'm in touch with my grandma and i also touched base with my Dad.

they all knew i was going through whatever, none of them were very supportive (Jehovahs witness's) but i guess time will mature people and i have had nothing but positive results so far. my dad says he does not approve but he can totally understand and he supports my right to do whatever is needed to be happy as long as i dont hurt myself or anyone else.

i recieved pics from my sister and i was SHOCKED how much alike we look, i know i'm a dead ringer for my mother (she doesnt know this yet) but i had no idea my sister would carry our genes like that. WOW!!!!

i cant wait till i'm able to send my mother some pics, she'll be impressed lol.

but for now she just wants to take things slow and i am more than willing to do so.... i dont want to give the old bat a coronary or anything LOL!

It's been a while since I posted to my own thread....

Today, I am in awe of my online friends.  I just wanted to let you all know, how much you mean to me.  I love you all very much.  Thanks for all the phone calls, emails, personal messages, and just for being there this past weekend.

I finally got my ADD medication today after years of people telling me I need to get it.

I went back to work today, and actually it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.  It was great to see everyone there; I was amazed that they didn't ask any questions....perhaps they know  :o...oh well!

What happened? You kept getting distracted on your way to the drugstore?

My wife called me a bi*** tonight (laughing, catching me completely off-guard).

I laughed at first too... then all these tears started coming out and just wouldn't stop... in this odd mix of joy AND sorrow for what that simple gesture from her implied.

It's SO cold here tonight. Snow. Ice storm. Dark. And yet... I DO know that spring is coming. It will. It must.

I laughed at that first line, but then when I saw what was next I could not help but go: "awwwwwww". *HUGS* I found out about a local electro clinic in town. WOO HOO!!! yeah, I know that it sounds weird about being happy over something that will be so painful but it needs to be done, AND it should show my therapist that I am serious about needing to transistion. I mean, would I go through something so painful if I was NOT serious??? OUUUUUUCH!!!

I plugged my new HTPC in for the first time tonight and it worked!  It's a little project I've been working on for the past couple of days.

Cindianna Jones is still laying here at my feet.  She hasn't eaten anything today.  The doctor said that happens but to watch her.  Poor baby. Two times today, she has stood up and wagged her tail for me.

I just saw my credit score for the first time in a year and a half.  I had no idea it had improved that much.

A whole class of beautiful children hugged me and gave me a valentine they made for me.

Hubby came home and Cindianna was happy to see him.. she actually stood up for him to greet him.

On another note, this thread is getting close to the 10K view barrier.... wow.... and it is a thread of happy things!  There haven't been any arguments!

I got a new laptop (for a good price) and a haircut this evening and I'm taking a mensa test on Saturday.  Also, I got a lawyer yesterday (wednesday).

My IQ went up about 15 points when I took a test about a month after going FT and two and a bit on HRT so be prepared for a suprise if the last one you did was pre transition.

Well, I did take the mensa home test and did well on that, but that was after going fulltime and everything.

Well, I think this is wonderful news for the feline species.  Today Lily (Lily is the kitty I found at my apartment's parking lot on new years'eve) was spayed according to my friend at work.  I am very happy that I found her a good home; she has adjusted pretty well to her siblings, and has plenty of room to play and lots of food to eat, but the best thing, she is loved by my friend and her husband.  She is indeed a lucky kitty. :)

Cindanna got up this afternoon and wanted to go outside!  She even did her doggie things out there.  She has a really hard time moving.... but she is getting better.  I'm so happy.  I thought  she was going to die for a couple of days there.

Tink, I'm glad the kitty is doing well.  It's a wonderful thing that you found a good home for her.  I find it odd that the human race has created these species of animals to love and cherish... and then we don't.

Hmm, I didn't know we "created" them. ???

Yup... we got some wolves and bread the wild out of them.  Then we took all the really cool things about wolves and bread them out.  We made big ones and little ones.  We made a lot of mistakes too.  Most could never survive if they weren't pampered the way they are.  They are no longer wolves by the way... they are the species we created.  They might even be considered several species.

We've done the same for cattle.  With the hundreds of varieties that used to exist, we mainly only have a handful.  They have no resemblance to those cattle of a few hundred years ago.  I'm just waiting for a single bug to wipe them all out.  For we have bread out the diversity.

But hey... this is a thread of happy things.  Cindanna got up today and wagged her tail. She ate her food and she even hobbled outside.  Brick is sleeping right now on the floor with her.  He is so cute.
