So, I want a nostril piercing, a hoop of course. I seen a guy on TV named Ryan from the Real world: new Orleans with one, and i thought it looked awesome!
But would you consider it masculine or feminine? Or in-between?

I really want one, but i dont want it to make my face more girly :\

I'd always take what someone is doing on TV as acceptable in the real world.
FIGHT APATHY!, or don't...

Tekla... we know that you do not approve of piercing.. but this thread is about whether they are masculine or feminine.  Not whether they make someone low class or not.

Personally I find it rude for you to say such things on a thread where obviously many of the posters, myself included have piercings.

In my opinion, nose piercings are pretty feminine.  Most of the nose/nostril piercings I've seen are on girls; and not just studs, but rings and hoops too.  I'd hold off on it if I were you.

I think it depends on what the piercing looks like. For example... diamond piercings just scream feminine, though I have seen only a handful of dudes with that type.

Most nose piercings look feminine to me regardless of what the ring is.

It's not just that.  I mean, the most manly masculine guy on Earth could get a pretty pink nose stud and nobody would mistake him for a girl.  (They might question his taste and sexuality, but that's a different story ;P)  I just don't think it's a good idea to risk it when your ability to pass could be affected.

Almost every guy at my last school had atleast one in there ear, usually one.

Nose rings do seem feminine tho. septum piercings and stuff varies by person

It depends on the person as well. But true, like you said it could affect ability to pass.

I want my septum done, my mother won't let me, she refuses. Although..i do have snakebites and she let me have those when i was 15.
I'll but a 16G ring and put it on my nose to see what it will look like

Lots of guys have piercings around here, i think a hoop would look great.  Imo just be yourself, if you like the piercing go for it.  I don't think a nose piercing is going to be the cause for passing or not unless it was a stud in the shape of a flower or something lol

If I see a nosering on someone who looks at all androgynous, I would probably assume them female.

While it is entirely possible that your enemy entertains some irrational prejudice against you, for which you bear no responsibility... have you entertained the possibility that you are wrong?

I know a girl with a nose piercing. Don't know any guys with them, but then again, I don't hang out with the kind of guys who get piercings.

I only know of one guy with a nose piercing, and its septum piercing and a large one at that... Kind of reminds me of a bull out of loonytoons. Ive also seen women with the same piercing but they use a smaller gauge and colors instead of stainless and a black ball, or stainless with stainless caps.

Every other nose piercing I've seen appears to be common on women, the gauge and style of the piercings seems to correspond with there sexuality but thats just a theory... so don't quote me on that.

I have a septum piercing and I always thought of it as masculine.

Yes, that is what I've always thought of them. I wonder if the owners of said piercings do as well.

I don't think I look like a bull. Kinda rude.

Did not say you look like a bull. It's the same piercing that the bulls on those cartoons always have, so they are brought to mind when I see a septum piercing.
