Breakfast was a piece of smoked Blue Grenadier on toast. Very nice, less acidic than kippers.

  Homemade beef and bean burritos with cheese melted on top, shredded lettuce, sour cream, sliced black olives and salsa slathered over the top of them.  Oh, and I'll have a slice of the strawberry flan shown above!

Rather than make it from scratch, like we would on board ship, I just buy the frozen Stouffer's variety.

I always associated the word "flan" with a Mexican custard.
