I am a huge Doctor Who and Torchwood fan.  They need to do another TW series and base it back in the UK.  I am in withdrawal now that the season of DW just ended.  Very much liked Capaldi!

Capaldi is great, less goofy. What I don't like it that the writer thinks we have zero attention span. I grew up on Tom Baker as the Doctor and plot lines could stretch for 4 or more episodes and I loved that. Now they wrap things up in an episode whilst adding some short thing in the end that tries to tie everything into a season finale which is only a 2 part event anyway. I still love the show, don't get me wrong, I just feel like it is dumbed down for current generations that have no attention span. I figure if you can't keep up with the Doctor and his crazy adventures than you don't belong with him on his travels! I also hate the new intro and music, its not clever, its not even good CG... And Yes! so bored of the Cybermen and the Daleks, its old hat. I did love that Missy was the Master regenerated, I knew it! He was always such a bitch anyway! lol I have been waiting since I was a kid for the Doctor to regenerate into a woman!  ;D

Love,
Jade

P.S. I watch from the US and have since the 70s! I used to have to get on my roof and adjust the antenna and yell back and forth to my Brother to get it to come in clear!
I've been afraid of changing, cuz I built my life around you.
but time makes you bolder, children get older , I'm getting older too.

Just watched the latest Christmas special - they've been patchy in the past but I thought this one was stellar, possibly the best one! Put me in a good mood and that's all that matters I guess. ::)

I have just watched season 8 not a bad season compared to the Matt Smith era. Loved time heist. One problem I did have the Master/Missy is there is already a rebel Time Lord that alters humans into whatever she wishes for her own amusement.  Rani.

I just think the continued use of The Master is getting a little old

They're no doubt in a bind - the Master/Mistress is too classic to just retire forever. It's a bit like with superhero comics, the Joker has become a bat$#&% boring character but every writer wants a crack at writing him despite generally diminishing returns. The general public expect to see him too.

To their credit Doctor Who came up with some new ideas and concepts as well. Some work, some don't. But the Master, daleks, Davros, cybermen and now the Weeping Angels are all too well known to be written out. I think they use them for the big events because the general audience (not just hard core fans) understand immediately what is at stake.

I really enjoy Capaldi as the Doctor, I was skeptical when he was first announced but he has quickly become my favorite Doctor in a long time.

I'm still having a hard time comprehending just how many levels deep they were in.

What about that dude? Did he die? If so there should be one of those head-crab things wandering about causing trouble.

A creepy suggestion pulled by my sister: what if none of those people ever really existed.

Yeah, great point about the guy. But knowing Doctor Who they won't let a massive plot hole get in the way of a story! :)

I've seen a few episodes. Never really got into it. I bet if I watched enough I could though. Look like I could enjoy it. Just not using time for watching it is my thing.

I can relate to that, there are plenty of TV shows people rave about that I have never been able to invest the time in watching. Sure I might like them but there are only so many hours in the day and I've got other stuff to do. Maybe when I'm recovering from SRS or in a retirement village...!

Moffat. Plot hole. These two things go together like Ace and a cannister Nitro 9 >:-)

This is why I can not wait for him to be replaced.

.....and Clara isn't leaving after all. Or was that just a dream?

I was wondering that since they still didn't have wounds or scars on their temples at the end. That said she has been confirmed for all of series 9.

At the end there was a credit that said that the Doctor and Clara will return next year in "The Magician's Apprentice".  So I guess she is in it.

I hope they don't pull a "J. R. Ewing", keep Clara around next season and have the whole season be a dream while an alien eats her brain. Even Moffat wouldn't do that,... Would he?
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.

This Ace?

Honestly, she was one of the better companions that the Doctor ever had.
