I feel like the andro gel is reverting me back to female. I've just taken pics and compared them to other photos when I was on injections and I look less masculine now...  Is it possible the andro gel isn't working and reverting me back to female? I don't know where my levels are at since I just started taking andro gel a month ago and I'm getting a blood test this week to see where there at, but everything got messed up while I was taking the andro gel. I wasn't on Finastride in the beginning of taking andro gel, now I'm taking finastride with andro gel and missed 3 days of no andro gel. I feel like all of that is going to effect my T levels...?

Bear in mind that drugs affect everyone a little differently. I would say if you are seeing bloating in your face or body in general, it could be because you changed administration techniques and moved to a different medication altogether. It may take your body some time to readjust how you metabolize it.

I can't say for sure that the finastride is affecting your T levels. Though I imagine since androgel is a daily application, and from what I have read it takes about 3 days for it totally run out of your system, I would imagine your levels are lower. I doubt though, if it has only been a short while since you had no dose at all, I doubt the fat distribution has reverted.

I really think you should talk about this with your endocrinologist. There is an off chance that T is turning into estrogen. This is possible under unusual circumstances. I don't know the chemistry or whatever that causes this so I can't tell you. It might actually have to do with the finistride or your dose may not be right.

@Ayden: There's no bloating in the face which is good. But I have lost weight which is good too, but that could possible be due to the med I'm taking...?

I was off the andro gel for 3 days, just put the gel on last night and getting back into my routine with it. I dunno I just feel like the andro gel just isn't working and I really don't want to go back to the shots. Hopefully I'll get my levels right soon since I haven't had a blood test since starting andro  gel.

@aleon515: I have a appointment with my endo Oct. 2nd and I'm supposed to get a blood test a week before, but since I was off the andro gel for 3 days I'm sure that's going to effect my T levels so I'm gonna have to wait a few days until my levels are up to get the blood test.

I was also taking the finastride the 3 days I wasn't on the andro gel, which I'm not sure your supposed to do or not...?

How long have you been on gel? It takes a pretty long time to revert back to a female appearance and such. You read some detransition blogs and it take anywhere from half a year to longer.

@edderkopp: I started andro gel Aug. 20th, 2012. I don't know why I feel this way, it just looks like it in pics to me that I'm looking more female. Though, one side of my face is more masculine than the other, I think.

In some pics that I see of myself, I can see why people think I'm female... I think I look like a girl trying to look like a boy and it's just not working. No matter how hard I try to look like a boy, I still look feminine.

You know it's weird, I was looking in the mirror earlier and I could swear I look more female than I have in years. I think I've lost some fat off my face and it's made my features look more....delicate. Maybe the same sort of thing for you?

Possibly. Though I'd rather have the weight come off and try to masculize myself in another way.

I actually thought if you loose weight you would look more masculine b/c the masculine features would stick out more. I know someone posted that if you loose weight it could help you look more masculine.

I always assumed the same thing! I tend to carry a lot of weight around my hips so obviously I've been trying to cut that down in order to achieve a more male shape. Instead it's come off my face, the fat on my cheeks has always given me a square looking jaw, now it's coming off and making my jaw more pointy instead of square =/

Sorry your not loosing the weight where you want too. It sucks when ya can't choose where the weight comes off.
