Princess Rachel

I thought it was the best Christmas story since The End of Time :)  I also loved the references to The Abominable Snowmen and The Web of Fear and they're really setting up the mystery of Clara now, pity we have to wait until April to see how she's introduced into the series the third time...

I'm concerned about her becoming the new Rory.  I hope she's here to stay after the next time we see her.

If you look closely early on in the Xmas show you'll see a road sign for Corn street as a horse drawn carriage goes by, this is in my home town of Bristol (I was drinking in a pub there the week before filming), the park where the TARDIS is hidden looks familiar but i'm not 100% sure where it is.
I'll have to re-watch this episode a few more times & see how many other areas in Bristol I can spot

I love the new look of the TARDIS interior, very 80's retro

I too love the new interior never did the like the yellows of it from 2005 onwards to me the first one with 9 and 10 looked like an inverted Dalek or should that be inside out? The new one makes me think of the classic interiors also the control panels surrounding the console look like they came out of Star Trek. I also like that the console itself looks more classic with a hexagonal design to it.

Definitely looking forward to the new episodes. But first I have three classic boxsets I got for christmas to get through.

I don't like the spinny things in the ceiling, but then I'm easily distracted.

Maybe the spinny thingys will grow on you?  Or maybe the won't show them too often...

is any/every one else looking forward to the 50th anniversary special in November?  I'm hoping it'll be epic like The Five Doctors was :)

In the meanwhile, I'm catching some old episodes on Netflix, now that I tricked it to thinking I'm in the US. (Only had access to the newest stuff before)

Colin Baker says he hasn't been approached for the 50th anniversary episode.  Not a surprise as he is several stone heavier than he was in the 80's and has lost his mop of blond curls.  In truth, if you wanted to feature all 11 Doctors, you would have to recast the first seven. It would also be extremely difficult to write a script with 11 leading men.

Doesn't rule out a multi Doctor story featuring No's 9 to 11 though and Paul Mcgann would still be able to do it.

A couple of years ago I wanted to play around with Webkit (the thing Google Chrome uses to draw webpages) and I made a simple Dr. Who inspired web browser called "Tardis".  I even made a dropdown to select different themes besides the default "Police Box", of course selecting anything else would display an error message saying that the chameleon circuit was broken!

I never got around to hooking it in to the wayback machine to view past versions of websites.  I also never figured out how to save user logins to web sites like gmail...

Well apparently Tom Baker has been approached and seems more open to returning now then in the past, however like Colin he has also out on weight and lost his signature hair. Although with enough make-up, wigs and some select camera angles they could pull it off. That or do what someone suggested in the fandom and have the doctors be him from different dimensions/realities where they lived longer before regenerating that would help explain the differences, Peter Davison and Sylvester McCoy haven't changed too much in comparison.

Maybe Sylvester McCoy will fill in for Colin Baker (again)?

the good thing with Colin's regen is we didn't actually see him die, all we saw was the middlepoint of the regeneration, so Colin's Doctor could have lived to a good long age and could play the Doctor as he is now, and as we never saw Paul McGann regenerate he can play the Doctor as he is now too :)

Princess Rachel, I thought I should warn you of a very dangerous mistake you are about to make, that isn't a jammy dodger in your profile picture, it's a self destruct button!!!
For pity's sake step away from the jammy dodger button before someone gets hurt

A bunch of us have just started up a roleplaying game where we all play UNIT agents. I'm playing a cantankerous, foul-mouthed Scottish Home Office liason.

The GM wouldn't let me be a time-traveller, boo! Heheh.

Awesome!  Will the GM at least let you drive around in Bessie?  (The 3rd Doctor's car when he worked for UNIT)
