Shiitake mushrooms (香菇) and a kind of black fugus without English name (木耳, species name: auricularia auricula), which have a long history as food in East Asia. They are pretty healthy with a good taste. High in fiber, and almost no fat.

areola areola?

Or as Pink Floyd might say:

How can you have any pudding
If you don't eat yer black fungus

Ah, I have found a name for it. Jelly ear. It is said that  large volumes of jelly ears are exported from Australia to China, but the Aussies never know how to cook that stuff themselves...

Tip for everyone, I discovered this morning:

When putting leftovers in the fridge, put it in the front, where it can be seen, lest it be forgotten.  :-X

Made fried Swai fillets for me (broiled for my gf) with some boiled cabbage and a side of black eyed peas. Ate that fish with a lot of hot sauce...man that was good.  ;D

Um... I made crab guacamole...  ^-^

I tried it at Outback Steakhouse and thought huh, that looks simple enough. ...Yeah, not so much.

No idea how it turned out, of course - I've never made anything before, ever.  It's light green with red-brown spots, so I guess that's good... I also wasted three perfectly unripe avocados and one perfectly overripe one trying to find good ones. But that's in the past. In the present there is Guacamole!

You should juuuust be able to dent an avacado with your thumb to make guacamole.  If it dents easily, you've got a squishy mess. However, bruising avocados ruins them quickly, so go easy on the ones at the store.

I tried that... The first four I think I mistook denting my palm for denting my avocado. The others I could definitely dent. A lot. Turned out mostly OK, 'cept for the one that was all brown inside.
