Alrighty, so I couldn't find something specific enough on this through the internet to give me an adequate answer.
My birthname is still my legal name, and I haven't had a chance to change it, but I use my chosen name everywhere, including my acting resume. I put my legal name at the very top in bold print, and then put in parenthesis my chosen name, and I go by my chosen name. I worked as an extra not long ago, and just received my check today, but it came with my chosen name. I'm concerned that I won't be able to deposit it. I've been with this bank since I was seventeen, and I've been with this specific location for at least four years, they know me really well down there, but they don't know that I'm getting a sex change. I definitely plan on asking, and I tried to find the letter from my therapist since it states both my birth name, and my chosen name. But I don't know if they would be willing to work around me if I just blurt out, "The names are different because I am a transsexual and am going through a sex-change, and the person paying me forgot that I go by a different name,"
Thoughts anyone?
I suppose that I could contact the woman who paid me and explain that I need the birthname on the check in order to deposit it.
