I have been testing out various tea sandwiches for a service tomorrow.

So far, the winners are:

Curried chicken salad with dried cranberries and dates, watercress, and whipped basil-herb butter on thin sliced sourdough flute

Cream cheese and fresh sliced strawberries on thin-sliced date-nut bread

Thin-sliced smoked turkey, gouda cheese, apple, cucumber, and apple jelly on cocktail pumpernickel

A classic English cucumber, chives, basil, and roasted red bell pepper, on white bread, with garlic hummus

One loser:

Crumbled gorganzola and sliced grapes, on cocktail pumpernickel toast with melted basil-herb whipped butter.

Still to try:

Smoked salmon, tomato, cucumber, thin-sliced onion, and basil-herb butter on cocktail wheat.

Brought home a cheeseburger from work with a big cookie and ate that while Jake was outside barking at the neighbor that was weedeating. So he doesn't even know I had something that he didn't get part of of, lol.

Good point, I'd better put a spritz of perfume on to throw his scent off.

BTW, in the morning i had some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for the first time. Dutch peanut butter is probably much less sweet than the american peanut butter, but hey, i like it when both tastes blend into something very tasty. Yesterday i had two peanut butter and nougat cream sandwiches. I don't always do that, but i used to eat peanut butter with chocolate sprinkles, nougat cream with sprinkles.......
