Went to see my mother in law in her nursing home (she is 92) I dropped off a present from my wife (lives in a different nursing home). I stayed and talked and brought her some comfort. I was happy to do so.
We talked about her past and her memories and her life. I made her some coffee. She said that XXX (my male past) would have walked in and dropped off the gift and left.
She was glad of the company.
I left after a few hours; my life had been enriched.
I realised that this journey is not just for us, it is for others also.
Thank you Peggy, may you dance in your dreams with Bernard tonight.
Love from your daughter in law
Cindy
