If you are a legal adult, you get to figure this out for yourself. If not, you may have to wait... or come out. If you are on your parent's insurance, you may still be able to find a shrink for your depression (and, if you do the research, they may handle trans patients). If you are dysphoric, you qualify for a depression diagnosis. Semantics mean something to insurers. I take Spiro because of high blood pressure. Estrogen: hormone imbalance. Both are true. Both are covered. I would not be covered for being trans.

Find a good shrink and a good doc. Or come out to your parents.
