I wanted to add a photo of my face. I am almost 36, overweight and a bit weathered heh! No HRT, makeup or anything. This is 100% male day to day, unshaven for two days, so I have not "tweaked" anything yet, and won't until I start hrt. How do you think I will go once I drop more weight in a few months.

PS.
When people say soften your face does that mean a lot of my weathered male skin will fill out eg fine lines and my old people folds hehe. I know I am unattractive, so do not hold back.

I don't think your unattractive at all. In fact with HRT, skin and jaw line softenting, hair removal you'll like quite feminine indeed :)

Sarah Leah,
I would agree with everyone who has commented.  I think that your femininity will come out quickly once you're on HRT.  If you can, though, lose the weight BEFORE you get on it.  It's a real pain to try to lose after you're on it.

Thank you all for the kind words. I will drop the weight as fast/safe as I can over the next 12 weeks. Although I still feel fugly :( but that is just me, I hate the way I look. I look at most of you on here and I think wow you all look like hot girls  ;) who pass without even a second glance.

What do you mean by jaw softening, as in surgery or from HRT. Also thank you for the nice comment, no one has said that to me before :icon_tears: so it is very kind of you.

Also will my face change a lot skin wise from HRT, as it is a bit saggy around the eyes cheek area from lack of sleep.

A straight line may be the shortest distance between two points, but it is by no means the most interesting

Still practicing with makeup. I was trying to be subtle. Thoughts?

Looks pretty good from what I can tell. Do you want a tip to lessen the brow ridge?

Lara the Lover and the Fighter

I used to be so nervous about posting pics but at this point I just don't care.  ;)

2 months HRT (low dose)

Lazily losing weight at a rate of .5lbs a week.

No blowing smoke up my skirt!  Honesty is the best policy.  I know I have a ways to go.

Check out my crazy eyes! HAH!

Complementary peace sign!

Honestly? I think your overall body shape is a great starting platform for the changes to mold and you will do great. You call them "crazy eyes", but I personally see confidence and contentment. Weight doesn't seem to be an issue in these photo's.  :)

Awesome.  Thank you.  I can't wait for those changes.  This whole transition is so much fun!!

Hi Lara,

I totally agree with Jess, here.

Your torso shape is going to do you wonders, figurewise. As for your face, I don't think you have too much to worry about. While the pic's too dark and distant to get specific, with your hair styled and your brows thinned, looks like you'll do just fine :)

Thanks a lot Gwynne! I pluck my brows daily but still manage to maintain two anchovies on my face.  I'm at the point where I really don't give a crap if I pass butt still, it would be nice.

You really do have an awesome torso shape there Lara, of which I'm only slightly jealous ;) I think you'll do just fine. Also, I really love that top :D

@kabittarah
You're on your way and I see a lotta promise in those soft facial features, but there are some things that could work wonders with some work.

First, hair. Find a trans friendly stylist and talk to them about what'll look good on your face. Make sure they know you identify as female. I personally recommend a side parted layered bob with side swept bangs. Bangs are feminizing, so use them. Work soft and face framing layers to give you volume, the rounder that volume the better. Use waxes or other types of hair product to beef up that volume as much as you can. We want it full and round and gorgeous. I feel like a few highlights could also do you tons of good, but that's really up to you.

Second, get rid of that beard shadow asap.

Third, thin out those eyebrows a tad. Not you yourself, but a professional. Ask them for a nice feminine shape, but not too thin cause your face will overwhelm them. Tell them you're trans and want to look as feminine as possible and then listen to their advice. They're a professional, they know what they're doing.

Lastly, get some makeup going girl. Foundation, blush, mascara, the works. Keep it natural, but use it. Expirement a little and find out your colors and style and all that good stuff.

Good luck to you, I wish you the best!

So today I took some body pictures. I'm 2.5 weeks HRT, so no boobs underneath there yet.
I'm worried about my body. My arms are lanky veiny man arms, and my hands are giant man hands, my shoulders are too broad :(.

Bleh. I feel like I look so masculine :(

Could my body be passable once maybe HRT reduces some of my upper body muscle and maybe redistributes some fat?
=/

I'm 5'10", 144lb.

Your shoulders really aren't that broad. You have a little fat and alotr of muscle in your upper arms just making you look that way a little. Your like me in one way though as you have feminine hips. I'm sure once you are on hrt for awhile and you realize the redistributions you'll look great.

Thylacin,
5' 10" @ 144lbs is not bad at all, being new to HRT you can expect to put on an extra ten pounds. I used to have veiny arms pre-hrt, now they're hard to find when I'm having a blood draw, probably more HRT related as I've purposefully lost 60 lbs  over the last few years and am not a fat putz. You have a nice body to begin with so give it time and you will be looking great.

I better go on a diet now if I can expect to gain 10 lbs. I'm 5-5 and 120 now & with my small bone structure ten more pounds would make me look huge!, lol! I really feel the best at around 115 but it's hard to get there.

OMG you are just plain tiny already, don't worry about it. I'm 5' 7" and 170 with medium bone structure, You don't need to be skin and bones to look feminine!

I just have a really small bone structure but I'm kind of lanky having long legs & long arms for my height. I do have nice hips though. I'll get a photo up on here as soon as I get a few taken. I also want to give the hormones at least 6 months to at least get started doing their thing as well. It's funny, my wrists are so small I've never been able to wear traditional mens watches. Most of the time the watch itself was as wide as my wrist, lol! ;)

My you are tiny, I can't wait to see a few pix when you get them up. My wrists have been getting smaller, I've had two links removed three times now from my watch band and am due to get a few more removed before long. I've been taking 800 mg of calcium citrate a day to be sure it's not bone loss.
