I had assumed that Gwynne knew that was a joke article when she posted the link.

Every study I've ever heard of said it's nearly impossible to overdose......
I don't know.. I suppose if you put the stuff into a lot of edibles you could but it is quite literally unheard of before this article.
No recorded pot deaths... ever, until this article.. I have a hard time believing it honestly.

EDIT

Yep.. it's fake: http://www.snopes.com/politics/satire/overdose.asp

I should have annotated that with a *satire* flag.

I was making a tongue-in-cheek poke at that story being picked up by mainstream media.

I feel bad for people who took to twitter to respond to this without fact checking and are now being quoted/mocked. They don't deserve that.  :-\

Mainstream media outlets, on the other hand, deserve to be tarred and feathered for reporting hoaxes.

Now that I've seen all of y'all talking about the mary jane legalization, I am thinking that I can't wait until it's legal in my state. I don't drink, so being able to come home and smoke without worrying about the cops would be great.

I wouldn't have expected NC to be near that tipping point.

Should other states follow, I would expect Oregon, California, Nevada, and maybe a northeastern state would be next.

I smoked it regularly as an early teen, but quit it when I was sixteen. I did try it with my little sister a few years back on a visit to her house and it made me feel lousy and blah, so don't think I'll be trying it again. I'll stick to sugar highs...

I don't know if I was being paranoid or not, but as I was walking out of an establishment I swear I heard someone say "no, that was a girl."

I never cared for it, if I wanted a buzz I'd pound a few drinks. Never hyperventilated on a Manhattan!

Right now only medical marijuana is legalized in New York.

I quit at 21, when I started working with kids. The combination didn't sit right with me.

I'm holding out for Ohio...
I honestly could live with or without it.. I just find that it's absurd that people goto jail for smoking something that is less harmful than alcohol.

I've had my fun with it in the past but it's not worth losing a job over or anything..

I view drug laws with a unique disdain.

Just big business arresting, trying and incarcerating (warehousing) a lot of hapless do-do's at taxpayer expense.

Hey Shan, looks like you were a little chilly in your avatar. ;) (lol. kidding, love you <3)

And it seems to be a contagious industry. We're building prisons up here at a shocking rate to accommodate non-violent mandatory-minimum-serving convicts.

Whatever you think of the drugs in question, the laws are disgraceful.  :-\

(cool new av, Shan!)
