My psychiatrist's office called me today to move my appointment up to tomorrow evening.  This means I will have my walking papers for genital surgery in hand when I see my therapist on Saturday. So it seems I will be getting the ball(s) rolling sooner than anticipated.  Adios, cojonitas...

Congrats!

Thanks, Shan and Laura!

Those dern thangs have been cramping my style since 1981.  I almost got to toss one out back then, when it decided to swell up to the size of a tangerine.  Turned out it had a bit of vestigial "girl parts" on it!  Sadly, the doc was able to save it after cutting away the offending bits.   You know, it's funny.  I remember at the time secretly wishing I'd needed to have both of them out so I didn't have to be a man.

I had a great time talking with two of my friends. One is new and I think we're going to get along great and the other continues to impress me. I hope these guys like talking with me as much as I like talking with them.

I started trying to get rid of my beard today! (HRT lessened it a bit already, my sideburns were growing much slower than the rest, at the point that I can barely notice any facial hair there after some days)

I Went trough my first photodepilation session, but I have chosen a method with Intense Pulsed Light (less expensive...I hope it is effective for my skin/facial hair type).

It was quite fast and I didn't feel any pain at all. Just little heat shocks and the smell of burned hair (ewww)! I hope to see results soon! I can't wait to get rid of this thing!  :)

Went shopping today as I needed to get a sports bra for running.
So much better as they are going nowhere now

I need to follow suit. Going up and down stairs is beginning to feel like jumping on a water bed.

Went to a clothing store with a friend and while checking out was offered a store credit card. Thinking like I always do, it's a good way to build up some extra credit I applied for it. Well I have to present my ID which almost made me not do it but as a test I decided what the heck. Well when I gave my ID the woman turned around to put my info in the computer then just stopped. She slowly turned around and asked, Ma'am ummm this isn't your ID?!?!?!? With a smile I said yes it is my legal ID with my given name and gender. I kid you not her jaw went straight to the floor as she kept putting the ID beside my face and looking back and fourth. She then said wow I never knew the whole time and would have never known had you not given me your ID. At that point me and my friend started laughing because we both cleared a hurdle at that moment. Then she began asking me and my friend "who is a trans woman as well" all sorts of questions in a nice and sincere way because she was now very curious about us. She even asked if we were sisters mainly because our hair color is the same and we are both almost the same Amazon height 5'10 & 5'11 but 15 years apart in age. She opened up about her life as well and her own struggles with many medical problems all throughout her 53 years alive and was just a pleasant kind and understanding person. We talked for a while until she realized that she was late for her lunch and had to leave.

All I can say is that woman had no idea how much of a difference she made for how I view myself in public and for my friend as well who has been full time for two years now. Even she was elated to be told that she passed 100% even though she has known that she can pass just fine for quite some time now. I'm super self conscious like many of us are at how bad I think I don't pass but here this woman was talking to us for nearly half an hour without ever knowing that we were transgender until I had to show her my ID  ;D Now I need to get my name and gender marker changed on my ID, and finally come out at work so I don't have to keep outing myself when I have to show my ID or credit/debit cards!

What a lovely woman, and what a wonderfully reaffirming experience! Just think, had you not gone forward with the application that would never have happened, and now this pleasant conversation has helped you over another hump and you're moving on. So cool Megumi!

Went clothes shopping last night with some money that I had set aside for new clothes. There was a shirt I was planning to buy from weeks ago, and it turned out they only had one left - in my size and the color I wanted! Yay!!! Got that shirt, a nice sweater, two vests, two tank tops (that I can finally wear!!!) and a jacket. I can finally dress nice!

You lucked out on the shirt, I've found that if I see something I'd like and don't grab it right away it's always gone when I go back!  >:(

I was worried that my doctor wasn't going to renew my HRT refills because the pharmacy didn't get anything back. My endocrinologist has all but abandoned me...they sent him the request and the receptionist said I hadn't "followed up in a year"...he didn't want me to! Lol! He just wanted the forms faxed when the time came. Anyway, my doctor has approved it and I just have to go pick up the forms. I'm glad. He's more thorough with bloodwork than the endocrinologist is and it's easier to have it all in one place.

round two of shopping today! i got some shorts (California summer is on the way!) and some really nice shirts. Top it off with Starbucks on the way home followed by sitting in the driveway watching the trees and taking time to really appreciate the simple things in life, like trees swaying in the breeze.

what made me most happy today is that i have the eyes to see the absolute beauty in stupid little things, and that i can share it with someone else.

i post in this thread every day...im really happy i guess!! lol
