Got a salon quality makeover and manicure from my roommate and her friend. It's gorgeous!

You lucky duck. I'm jealous. :P

Did you draw your avatar?

Was invited to go to a friend's house to study. This has never happened to me before. He's a guy friend too. I've never been invited to a guy friend's house before without it getting creepy and I doubt that will happen this time.

Yes, that one is an older one though.  I also painted the first avatar I had on here.  I'll eventually paint this one once I get my laptop able to charge again.

I have a lot of sketches I need to color.

YAY!  Happy for you.  Maybe it'll be the start of a trend of non-creepy hang outs with guy friends.

I hope so. I'll probably be jumpy for awhile, but I am anyway. I'm not exactly sure how regular hang outs work. Neither do I know how one studies with friends.

I helped D with his homework.

Had an irrepressible grin when looking in the mirror this morning. I think I'm beginning to turn the corner :)

Tossu-sama,  you should be excited to be getting a hysto. How are you able to get one at your young age?  I would sure like to get mine too, but hard to find a surgeon here and then I need to money to pay for it too.

I think it's partially thanks to the unique(?) laws about treatment of trans people in Finland. Thanks to my GID diagnosis - F64.0 - I'm entitled to all possible treatments, from HRT to SRS with minimum costs (not that I'd go as far as meto or phallo but anywho).
But it's most likely thanks to the remnant of narrow-mindedness in the law as well. We can't get the gender marker changed without being sterile. That law obviously stemmed from the fear of men giving birth and women conceiving children. Then again, I'm basically sterile already even without hysto, as far as having a paper from the doctor is a sufficient proof. |D

But yeah, Finnish trans people have things pretty good. Considering my top surgery cost me ~60€ (cost of the days I spent in the hospital) and I currently pay 3€ for about three months worth of T.
Hysto will be more expensive because I need to stay in the hospital for longer time.

Thanks, you do have great medical support in Finland.  I am a student in the US, no insurance now.  I still get my shark week attacks every month, still have a another free week to go this month.  I am looking to getting on T and ending them and then getting those extra parts removed so I can never bleed again.

Found a great laptop at Officemax with 8 gb memory, AMD graphics card and 750gb hdd.  Which was $372, after promo and rebate.  To repair the charge port on my current one, it was at best maybe going to be $300, plus the $35 consult fee.  Didn't have it at the store but a store about 30 minutes away did, so they'll be picking it up later and call me when it's ready.  Mostly likely will be today, but tomorrow at the latest.

So I can get back to digital art very soon.

The much older Vaio I am on right now, is great for blu-rays and browsing, but likes to freeze and crash when digitally painting. And sucks for gaming.

Yeah, our medical stuff is either very cheap or free of charge in the public sector. No insurance required to get things done etc. The only downside is sometimes having to wait for several months but it's a necessary bad to deal with and not so bad in the end.

Hopefully you'll get the transition related stuff started ASAP on your end. :)

I saw D today and talked to him. Unfortunately, not much. However, we do have a midterm on monday, so I know he's going to be at school and I have an excuse to ask him to hang out.
I feel a little stalkerish. I swear I'm not trying to be creepy. I just want to see him.

New laptop is in possession and being set up.  This weekend will install all my art programs and my art tablet drivers and get back into the swing of things.

Oh yeah and I hung out with a friend. We got some actual studying done and I think I understand it better now. I also got to meet his girlfriend and, aside from the studying statistics part, it was a lot of fun. He also reassured me that it's ok for me to be socially awkward.
Also my stats prof agreed to let me do my midterm later due to my son's contagious infection.
