I got an email from Gamestop telling me to "please come back". The last game I'v brought there was GTA V and that was almost half a year ago. Gamestop has given me a coupon for $10 off my next pre-owned purchase that's $30 or more. That's pretty good and I'd get the Hatsune Miku game for $35 with that plus tax and bus fare.....and I have gift cards. The offer ends this month. That seriously not a bad deal if I'm able to give them the code because I don't have a printer to print out the coupon. As much of a good deal that is, I think I'm going to have to pass. That money could go towards something else like my top surgery fund or even a brand new video game that I "must" pre-order when E3 rolls around in Summer. I know I have gift cards and store credit (probably about $100 worth) but I'm so hardened to using them in hopes of using it on that "one" game I just "know" is going to be worth it. I dropped the ball on that with Far Cry 3, Black Ops 2, Saints Row T Third (AND the strategy guide-ouch), and depending on how I'm feeling, GTA V. The only game that I think was worth $60 was inFAMOUS 2. I don't even know why I'm bringing this up. I do most of my video game shopping on Black Friday, though I skipped it this year. That way I'm only spending $30-$40 on a new game. Chances are, I'm going to do the same with future games. Nowadays, I take it a step further and just watch the Lets Plays.
The only games coming out that I'm interested in are Dying Light, The Evil Within, and Watch Dogs. I may or may not watch the LPs of the first two (depending on if I can take the horror element to them as I'm becoming more sensitive to them). As for Watch Dogs, there's no way I'm pre-ordering it out of principle. I WAS going to pre-order it, but Ubisoft has a pattern of delaying games (Rayman, Far Cry 3, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, and now Watch Dogs) and in FC 3's case, I consider it false advertisement and that game was a MAJOR let down so no, I'm not pre-ordering it. I'm going to buy that game used or buy it new for like $20. Ubisoft hasn't hit the crap list like EA, THQ, and Capcom, but they are very close to being on there. The game looks good though.
