Hi Veronica,
Congrats! It's a great experience to meet others. For me the main thing was just being in a roomful of people where my identity was normal. Talk about a weight off.

I have spoken with one other person that attended Esprit one year, and they swore by it. Again, not so much the classes that were provided, but the inclusive feel where you live amongst other trans people for a while. She said it felt like "trying on" her new life for a bit, where she was a woman and everyone accepted her as such. It sounded fantastic.

Jesse,
Yes it was a big weight off my shoulders for sure... As to the Esprit, It does indeed sound like a hoot for sure. I think I may take Julie up on her offer next year if the invitation is still available... And by that time I will be much further along in my transition.

Hey girls, I may be thin but love to cook too, and nobody can touch my Mashed Potatoes and Gravy, lol! Seriously I do love to cook. And I too have to watch the Italian food on my girlish figure. It's soooooo good though.

While on vacation I went to the Lake Fork LBGT Pride Fest in Lake Fork Fl. You girls are right it was so nice meeting other people that get it. Though we Transgender women were in the minority there were still enough of us there to get together and have fun. There was 3 live bands and overall it was a very good time. I shot some video on my cell of it but can't get it off of it for some reason, lol! Anyway it was great meeting other girls who understood.

Hey veronica and Allyda, you two both mentioned having to watch what you eat, was it always like that or is it worse nowadays? I've always had a really fast metabolism, it's quite handy and i'm keen to put on a bit of weight in the right places but i'm not keen to loose my metabolism super power completely :P

My weight is from one depression, and two medical issues I have had for the last seven years which are finally getting better. But your metabolism will slow down with age. I was at 180 till I hit 36 years old and from there shot up to 337 at my highest weight. Thankfully I am not that now but my goal weight is 170 and and have a little under 90 lbs, to lose before I get there. With totally cutting carbs out of my diet and eating much smaller portions I am dropping about 3 to 5 lbs a week at the moment.

Wow you look so much younger first of all :D

I'm sad to hear your depression, it's pretty common around hear but it gets better day by day :) Glad to hear the medical issues are improving too :)

Your making nice steady progress Veronica, you'll get there!!! keep it up :D

I've always been thin and usually eat what I want. Though my aircraft accident in 91 cut down on my physical lifestyle a bit, and my age have made me have to watch my portions now so as not to overdo it cause I can't exercise like I used to. But basically, up until my accident I could eat what I wanted as much as I wanted and never gain a pound. Afterwards though, If I didn't watch I could gain weight easily. I'm 5-5 and 117 now, but if I don't watch my caloric intake I can easily gain weight. I'm trying to get back to 115 now. :icon_flower:

My medical stuff wasn't caused by an accident, but more my previous career. I worked on golf courses working on the high tech. lawn mowers specializing in the cutting units which can weigh as much as 300 lbs. So here I am after three back surgeries and two new hips. I'm 5'11" so even now I hold my weight reasonably well just would like a little less in front and more in the rear end so to speak... I have no ass...  ;D ;D ;D

Pretty sure after I start HRT that will hopefully change. Never the less want to lose the gut first and get back down to my proper height to weight ratio which is 170 lbs. In the mean time being a little fat doesn't really bother me to much as long as I am making forward progress. Also my overall heath is improving due to the weight loss so it is a win win situation for me.

Haha Tegs, I had to look that one one up.

It funny when you catch a reference and suddenly simple conversation becomes hilarious. When others don't get it you get those odd looks, but hey, at least you get to laugh! :D

Cool Video Shiney. I love the slapstick reference to it in the Naked Gun 2 & 1/2, lol!

Oh I love movies. For an hour and a half to two hours I can forget about my troubles and immerse my thoughts into a fictional world. Online RPG games do the same thing for me but on a different level.

oh you are preaching to the choir here!

Movies and tv shows have got me through soo much. I just shut myself in and dissolve into another reality. Been there avoiding life for a few years now. I'm slowly pushing myself back into the real world but it's a hard habit to break :P

Never played to many games, don't know if they'd help or hinder hahaha
